My company needs a way to share specific envelopes with a team, for example when collaborating on a matter. They want the rest of the team working on a specific matter (deal) to be able to see all envelopes sent in relation to that matter, and the status of each. This isn’t possible currently, and DocuSign Support suggested I raise an Idea. Here I am!
Shared envelope access is time consuming for administration: We can add/remove shared access on an individual user, we would like to be able to upload changes in one step. There is no current easy way to get a list/report of all of the user accounts that have shared envelope access and what type of access they have Allow to Manage on behalf of Allow to Edit on behalf of Allow to send on behalf of Could an admin report be made available to export a list of accounts that have share envelope access? Could an improvement allow a list of people to added and removed for share access?
I’d like to see a report that shows which accounts at the company have shared access enabled, including which kind of access: Manage, Edit or Send.
In Docusign CLM, we currently have standard Dropdown and Dynamic Dropdown attribute types for selecting valuesHowever, these options are limited when working with reference lists (>35) such as cost center codes and descriptions. Proposed enhancement:Introduce a new “Lookup” attribute type that allows users to: Search and filter from a large dataset (e.g., cost centers, departments, vendors). Display both code and description columns for easier selection. Optionally pull data from an external or internal reference table (via API or data source link). Use this lookup field in Document Generation, Workflows, and Forms. Example use case:When generating a document, a user could type part of a cost center code or description (e.g., “44100” or “Marketing”) and select the correct entry from a searchable dropdown list.
Currently, a status bar is already available in Home → All Agreements → Completed within IAM for eSignature and Workflow Builder (formerly Maestro) workflows. However, in CLM, it is not possible to see a visual progress bar representing the progress of a workflow instance. At the moment, users can only check the workflow view, the “status” attribute, or the history of an agreement — but this information is often not clearly visible or intuitive.Idea / Enhancement Request:Please consider adding visual workflow progress indicators in CLM, for example: A progress bar (0–100%) showing the completion level of a workflow instance. Detailed Color-coded stages (e.g., open, in progress, completed) in Unified Task Management. Option to display all open and completed steps with corresponding colors. Option to show workflow instance progress bars directly on dashboards or the IAM/CLM home page.
Currently, when configuring a Change Security Step in a DocuSign CLM Workflow, it’s not possible to easily restrict or modify access for roles (permission profiles) — only for individual users.Folders inherit a general “CLM User” permission profile by default. To apply more granular or restricted access (e.g., remove visibility from general users), we have to use the roles property in the API endpoint POST /tasks/changesecuritytasks.https://developers.docusign.com/docs/clm-api/reference/tasks/changesecuritytasks/post/#schema__task.changesecuritytask_folder_security_roles)However, this capability is not currently exposed or configurable via the CLM Workflow UI directly with step update security.Improvement request:Please add the ability in the Workflow designer to: Configure folder security updates based on roles, not only users. Easily remove or limit the default “general CLM user permission profile” access from workflow steps. Align UI behavior with what’s supported by the API. This would greatly simplify permission automation and improve security management within workflows.
Currently, Web Forms do not allow users to select or access existing Contacts (or Signing Groups) when configuring recipient or data input steps. This feature would be very useful to: Simplify user workflows by reusing existing contacts already stored in the DocuSign account. Reduce manual entry errors when repeatedly using the same signers. Ensure consistency with Workflow Builder (formerly Maestro) and eSignature Template behavior, which already support Contacts. Could DocuSign consider adding the ability to use Contacts and Signing Groups directly in Web Forms setup and data input steps?
Party management CLM list view capabilities are limited.Filtering Archived Documents (attribute or archive folder location): There is currently no configuration setting that allows you to hide archived documents from this specific "Party Agreements" list view. Customizing List View Columns: The module does not support adding new columns, such as "Location," to this view.
I asked about this before. wondering if there is a way in the meantime to address this.I have several documents which must show the date, time and timezone stamp next to the signature, but most of my other documents I cannot show this info. the global setting variant does not work for me. Ideally should a choice when pulling the data signed per template.
Currently, when downloading completed documents from DocuSign API whether combined or as part of the email notification the system automatically uses the template name for the combined file. While the individual documents inside a .zip file retain their correct names, the combined PDF and the .zip filename both use the template name. This can be confusing when managing multiple envelopes created from the same template, as it makes it difficult to identify which specific envelope the file belongs to.Requested Enhancement:Please provide an option to use the envelope name (or document name) instead of the template name when downloading combined documents. This enhancement would help improve organization, especially for teams managing multiple envelopes from shared templates.
We would like to request the ability to customize the file naming format for downloaded documents generated from our templates. Specifically, we’d like to automatically apply the following format to the file name upon download:[Date Signed] Last Name, First Name Document TitleExample: 2025.06.10 Canales, Jessica Work From Home PolicyIdeally, this format would: Be consistent across all documents that use the same template. Apply to all templates within our account. Eliminate the use of underscores in file names. Currently, downloaded file names appear to be a mix of the email subject and internal document name, often including underscores (e.g., I9_form_exp_2026.07.31). Similarly, envelope downloads with multiple documents are saved as a ZIP file using the email subject with underscores (e.g., Last, First _–_Avalon_Onboarding_Day_1).We would prefer a more user-friendly and professional naming convention without underscores and with clearer formatting. Is this level of customization possible? If so, we’d love to implement it across all templates and document packages.
Hi all, according to DocuSign Support, DocuSign CLM document preview is limited to file types listed on https://support.docusign.com/s/document-item?language=en_US&bundleId=fsk1642969066834&topicId=daf1652810149400.html&_LANG=enus Markdown files are missing in the list. This is an idea for DocuSign to add Markdown files preview feature in the Documents section, or at least treat them as .TXT files, or at least give this option/setting to DocuSign CLM admins to configure.Kind regards,Petr
Currently, the only option w/in DSCLM for managing Document Types is to set an ‘Alternate Name’ for the pre-configured document types provided. While, this is nice...it would be better to be able to create custom document types as well. The value add is.Our end users have may/will have different document types used within the business at Insights. Offering a customized experience that speaks the business language...thus making the system more manageable and usable. Increased end user experience. Ability for DS Developers to provide solutions (not work-arounds) to their end user community.
Include Microsoft Teams & have a 'Microsoft Teams Integration' options within Account Settings (like Slack) for notifications, etc…Add a Microsoft Teams Integration options for enablement similar to what is currently being offered for Slack Integration. This would allow DSCLM developers an option for providing notifications for items such as…Task assignment notifications Reminder updates DSCLM Human Steps Currently, the only way we have to send out task notifications is via email & those tend to get lost and/or missed. By having Microsoft Teams integration - this would.Free up emails received and/or having to be managed Provide a better end user experience as they are more active in MS Teams Traceability w/in MS Teams is better than using emails
Currently, the Seal Management section in the DocuSign Admin Portal and its related API endpoints only provide very limited information — such as Seal ID and Seal Name. However, during the Electronic Seal application process, customers are required to submit more detailed information, including: Common Name in Seal Certificate Organization in Seal Certificate Country in Seal Certificate Organizational Email in Seal Certificate Seal Expiration date We suggest that these fields also be displayed in the Admin Portal and retrievable via API, after the seal application is approved. This would allow customers and administrators to easily verify that the information submitted matches the approved certificate — without needing to send a test envelope just to confirm correctness. In addition, we recommend adding callback or webhook events (e.g., seal.created, seal.updated, seal.uploaded) so that customers can automatically receive notifications when the seal is uploaded, approved, or modified. These enhancements would: Improve transparency in the seal application and approval process; Help customers identify potential configuration issues earlier; Enable automation and monitoring for enterprise integrations. It would be helpful if the task view had other columns similar to the "Info" column, which you can update using the "Update Information" workflow step.I'd also like you to add a column with the Requester's Name, the person who initiated the workflow. Many clients request this.
I have many contracts to work through when I am working in Docusign. I can only sign contracts from clients if our internal workflow is completed, therefore I need to sign things in some sort of order. After I complete a document, the “Would you like to sign another document” prompt is helpful, but it is often a contract I cannot act upon. Therefore, I have to exit the page and navigate back to all of the agreements in my portal to select the next document. It would be wildly helpful if this prompt instead showed a list of 5-10 different contracts to go into, instead of just one. This would allow me to customize my workflow without exiting the page.
