Docusign is pleased to announce that the Docusign eSignature 25.4.00.00 Release Notes: December 2025, is now available on the Demo environment for customer testing.🚀 What's new?Flexible EU QES This feature streamlines the process for qualified electronic signatures (QES) by allowing recipients to select their preferred trust service provider. It enhances compliance and flexibility for agreements requiring the highest level of electronic signature security in the European Union. Next Generation eSignature Experience A significant makeover is coming to the eSignature sending experience, featuring a modernized user interface and AI-recommended sender fields. This transformation aims to accelerate envelope preparation, simplify template creation, and drive higher conversion rates. Maestro Enhancement: Attachment Support for Standalone Web Forms Standalone web forms used in Maestro workflows now support attachment fields, a key capability for collecting supporting documents, files, and images directly through a form. This new support simplifies workflows that require submission of external materials alongside the form data. Data Verification: Smarty App Improvements for Address Verification Updates to the Smarty App will make address entry and verification faster, more accurate, and more intuitive, particularly for international users. Key improvements include smarter autocomplete, enhanced country-specific support, and clearer error messages, reducing manual input errors. AI-Assisted Agreement Summary and Q&A Expanding Globally for English Agreements These AI-assisted features are expanding to English agreements across all global sites, providing signers with concise summaries and grounded, document-based answers to their questions. This expansion will make agreements easier to understand, boosting clarity and confidence worldwide. New Connect Events for Notary Four new Connect events are being introduced to keep users informed on the progress of participants in the Notary On-Demand feature. These new alerts, such as session paused and notary assigned, are crucial for monitoring notary sessions and making necessary workflow adjustments. New Update to Envelope Removed Connect Event The envelope-removed Connect event is being extended to also trigger when a finalized envelope is permanently deleted after its retention period in the purge queue. This update provides improved visibility and tracking for the complete lifecycle of your documents. Search Within Agreements Available for Signers on Desktop Signers on desktop web can now quickly search for specific keywords or phrases directly within their agreement using a new toolbar icon or standard keyboard shortcuts. This feature gives signers more control and convenience by making it faster to locate key information before signing. AI-assisted Agreement Summary and Q&A coming to mobile apps in December The helpful AI-assisted features, including document summaries and a Q&A tool, are expanding to Docusign’s mobile apps. This change ensures that signers on mobile devices can also quickly grasp the essentials and feel confident about what they are signing. Reporting: Org Report Timezone Change Organization Reports will now use the default time zone set for each specific account being processed, eliminating the previous unpredictable time and date formatting. This ensures that the time zone for each account's data is consistent and predictable, resolving confusion caused by discrepancies. Planned Update to Certificate Authorities (CA) in Production Environment (Docusign France) Docusign France is updating the certificate authorities for Standards-Based Signatures (SBS) customers in the production environment on December 3, 2025. This technical update involves changes to the serial numbers and names of the issuing certificate authorities for advanced, qualified, and electronic seal customers. Docusign ID Verification with IC-Chip Reading for Japan A new identity verification configuration is being released for Japanese customers on the JP1 data center, offering IC-chip reading eKYC methods like JPKI for MyNumber Card. This capability is vital for addressing evolving regulatory requirements for advanced and secure identity verification in Japan. Reorganized Envelope Lists The streamlined organization of the envelope lists on the Agreements page will continue as an optional trial throughout December and until further notice. This new experience is designed to simplify the user's workflow by orienting lists around the natural stages of an agreement, such as drafts and in progress. Streamlined Design and Usability Updates for Envelope and Template Details The Envelope and Template Details pages are receiving a significant update based on user feedback to create a more consistent, streamlined, and user-friendly experience. Key changes include a consolidated header, enhanced recipient visibility, and a new centralized Details tab. Improved Optimized Default View for Responsive Signing New AI-powered processing is being introduced to dynamically choose the best default signing view on mobile devices based on readability. This enhancement for the 'Optimize View for User’s Device' setting will ensure a more comfortable and readable signing experience. Envelope Type Renamed to Category on Web UI The attribute 'Envelope Type' is being renamed to 'Category' in the web UI for envelope and template creation to more clearly indicate its purpose of classifying agreements. This purely visual change also introduces an alphabetized dropdown list for easier selection. Changes to Signing Order Behavior in Envelopes and Templates The 'Set Signing Order' option will now be enabled by default for new envelopes and templates, and reordering recipients will automatically update their sequential signing order numbers. These changes address user feedback and eliminate accidental creation of parallel routing steps, improving workflow accuracy. Signing Groups and Contacts in Maestro Core eSignature features, specifically signing groups and contact directory suggestions, are being integrated into Maestro workflows to enable faster creation and reduce manual errors. This is a major adoption enabler for enterprise customers, as it supports group approvals necessary for departmental workflows. Enhanced Editor for Maestro Email Notification Services The text editor for email notification services in Maestro has been improved to support rich text formatting and will soon allow inserting workflow variables for deep personalization. These updates give users more control over presentation and enable the creation of highly professional and tailored communications. New Field Types Supported in the Mobile App The mobile app now supports Dropdown, Attachment, and Line fields, allowing senders to use these field types when creating envelopes and sending templates on-the-go. This makes it easier to manage and send complex documents without needing to switch to a desktop. Supplemental Documents Now Supported in Mobile App Sending The mobile app now allows senders to add and edit supplemental documents when creating envelopes and sending templates.
