Docusign eSignature 25.4.02.00 Release Notes: January 2026
Docusign is pleased to announce that the Docusign eSignature 25.4.02.00 Release Notes: February 2026, is now available on the Demo environment for customer testing. 🚀 What's new?Visual variable mapping experienceThe new two-panel interface in Maestro provides a real-time visual of field mapping to template images. This streamlines the eSign configurator process, greatly reducing errors and eliminating the need for users to juggle multiple tabs. Instance replay for failed and in-progress workflowsUsers can now restart a Maestro workflow from a failed or cancelled step after resolving the issue. This important capability saves recipients from having to restart the entire process and prevents them from having to do redundant work. Docusign Workspaces: Workspace TemplatesThis new feature enables organizations to create reusable templates for complex, multi-step transactions, including necessary envelopes and documents. The capability promotes standardization and efficiency across repeated business processes. AI‑Assisted Sender Message for Digital Customers (Web & Mobile)This enhancement uses artificial intelligence to generate a first draft of the envelope message based on the uploaded agreement content. It dramatically reduces manual effort for senders, allowing them to prepare envelopes for signing faster. Navigator: Saved SearchThe new saved search feature in Navigator allows users to store and quickly rerun complex search criteria, including filters and column configurations. This is a valuable tool for efficiency, ensuring swift and easy access to frequently needed document sets. Navigator: Search FeedbackUsers can now provide feedback on the quality of their keyword search results in Navigator using thumbs up or down icons. This direct channel of feedback is vital for Docusign to continuously improve the accuracy and relevance of the search functionality. Default branding in Maestro workflow emailsThe default account branding will now be automatically applied to all Maestro-generated emails, webforms, and eSignature documents. This update ensures consistent brand identity for recipients and helps to build greater trust in the communication. Unified signature shield for digital signaturesThe signature shield is being re-established for documents signed with a qualified electronic signature (QES), providing a recognizable mark of trust around e-signature fields. This ensures a consistent and trustworthy visual experience for both advanced and qualified digital signatures. AI-assisted Field Suggestions for Agreement Template BuilderArtificial intelligence is introduced to automatically suggest and place key sender and signer fields, such as signature and date signed, into agreement templates. This feature significantly reduces the manual work of document tagging and helps users create professional templates more easily. AI-Assisted Optimized Default View for Responsive Signing (internally named AI Readability Grading)A new artificial intelligence-assisted mode enhances responsive signing by more accurately determining the optimal view—mobile-friendly or desktop—for agreements on a recipient's device. This is highly recommended as it ensures the best possible reading experience and smoother completion rates. Changes to Shared Contacts in DocusignNew shared contacts will now be associated only with the account in which they were created, rather than being visible across all user memberships. This is a crucial update for users managing multiple accounts, as it provides better control over data privacy and contact organization. Changes to Cross-Account Envelope Access for REST API UsersAccess to envelopes for REST API users is being restricted to the specific account from which they were sent or received, enforcing stricter account-level scoping. This enhancement improves security and ensures that envelope metadata is only visible from the correct originating account. Timeline Update for Next Gen eSignature ExperienceThe rollout dates for the new eSignature experience, aimed at modernizing the sending process, have been updated for both web plan and direct customers. Reviewing this revised schedule is important to ensure readiness for the forthcoming interface and functional changes. App Center EnhancementsThe App Center now centralizes the management of connected apps for Agreement Actions, and administrators can approve individual extension apps. This streamlining effort is part of a larger migration, improving both user experience and administrative governance over integrated applications. For full details, check out the complete release notes. 📌 Feature availability noticeNot all product features are available at the time of this announcement.
