Question

How to check which date format a signer has used

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello,

When I receive a signed document that has a signature date of 02/04/2025, how can I find out which date format the signer has used, i.e., whether they signed on 02 Apr or on 04 Feb 2025?

And especially, how can I check this if I was not included in the envelope, but received the document from someone else?

Thanks, Anke

Hello @AnkeFronius,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! I appreciate you bringing your question to this Community. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you.

If you weren’t included in the envelope but received the document from someone else, confirming the date format can be more challenging The date format in a signed DocuSign document is usually based on the regional settings of the sender's account.

In this case, you may need to reach out to the person who sent you the document and ask them to confirm the regional settings or date format used when the envelope was created.

Thank you very much for your reply, Jenny. I do undersand. It just does not seem practicable in many cases to obtain that information. the person may be not identifiable, not responsive or have left their position by the time tthe information is needed. This appears to be a major gap in docusign if I cannot obtain this information and know whether a something was signed on 02 Apr or 04 Feb, which can make a siggnificant difference. Especially for CRF part 11 compliance. Is there any plan to address this in near ruture/can I submit a request?
