How to manage Navigator permissions

As an eSignature account Administrator, are you looking  to manage Navigator permissions for the users according to the roles they perform ? Wondering which permission takes precedence, such as that set at Profile permission level or at Group level ? Then look no further as you’ll find the answers right here:.

Navigator permissions can be set in multiple ways:

• Permission profile: Neither default permission profiles—DS Admin, DS Sender, or DS Viewer—include any Navigator permissions, not even the DS Admin profile, meaning you can grant Navigator permissions independently of whether a user has the DS Admin, DS Sender, or DS Viewer profile. You can nevertheless create a Custom Permission profile that includes one or several Navigator permissions
• User : You can manually grant Navigator permissions.
• User Group : You can grant Navigator permissions (except the permission for bulk uploads) to all users in the group at once. 

Example Use Case

You have created a Custom Permission Profile that includes the Navigator permission to View all agreements in the account and have assigned that Profile to a subset of users. You now also want to grant an individual within that subset  the permission to Organize and  manage all agreements (e.g. by creating and managing agreement sets, types and fields)

How to Configure or Use This Feature

Follow these steps in Docusign eSignature:

1. Navigate to Admin > Users 
2. Click "Actions" next to the User and select ‘Manage Navigator Access’
3. Toggle on ‘Organize and manage all agreements’

Best Practices

• User and group permissions are managed at the account-level. Make sure that you are updating records from Accounts administration instead of Organization administration. If your organization has multiple accounts, verify that you are updating the correct account.
• The Organize and manage all agreements permission is the highest level of access and is typically reserved for contract managers.
