Regarding CLM Document View Updates… why the additional steps when sending for external review or signatures? I feel it was much better when the submitter receives the document after approvals to send for signature to have the document in front of them to view. Instead the task shows a window with activity on the left and the documents as link. They will now need to select the link to see the document view. That may have been ok but to say continue sending for signatures, the submitter sends for signature but the platform reverts back to the page with the links and they they have the option to continue sending for signatures. These extra steps seem very redundant. I believe it is much easier for a user to receive the task in document view and continue with their steps.
This is the same process when sending for external review.
Any thoughts on this? I’m curious to know why this feature would change and is there a thought of reverting back to the document view with these tasks?
Hello @Sha.ron,
Thank you for the feedback! We have also heard this from other customers, so your feedback is completely valid. In general, most other types of tasks feature the task completion screen next to the document preview, so the task is "in context" of the document itself. We are moving in this direction for most types of tasks to reduce the number of clicks, and make it quicker and easier for users to complete their tasks with all of the right info at hand. To address your last question, there is a CLM Admin setting that admins can choose to apply, where their users are then taken back to the main Task List after task completion, rather than remaining on the document preview.
I see you posted an Idea about this, and this is indeed valid! You can check on the status of your request at any time, and other users can upvote your request. We appreciate your input and hope you’ll keep them coming.
