Trying to correct an envelope and I get this error, how do I correct it?

The API request is forbidden. Request blocked due to excess usage

Hello Friends, Chet Raj from BatchNepal here,

For a temporary workaround you can:

Go to your agreement: Dashboard → envelopes → sent

Click on 3 dots (options) → copy → agreement editor will appear.
Edit → save and send it. Delete previous one.

Hope they fix this bug trial users are facing. It brings negative impression on the product for advanced users like us.

Hello MGood, Real Estate Agent here, I had the same problem and to somehow resolve it was:

  • Firstly, open the “Correcting” Envelope
  • Then click on “More” and then click on “Copy”

These sequence of events will generate a new Envelope in which you can replace, correct or remove the documents within the envelope

Hope these steps help!

Having the same issue.

Copying counts toward the limit of documents that could be sent. That is not the right way to fix this problem.

I have the same issue: Do I need to redo everything?

  1. Create a Docusign trial account
  2. Create an envelope with a few PDF documents
  3. Send it for signing
  4. From the Agreements page, select the envelope and select “Correct”
  5. Fixed a typo in someone’s name
  6. On the “Correct” page, click on “Next” then “Correct”
  7. You’ll get the “The API request is forbidden. Request blocked due to excess usage”

And it seems that I also have the same here:

  • On the “Correct” page, click on “Discard changes” - You will get back to the Agreements page, but the Envelope stays as “Correcting”

Hi, I created a trial account and I’m having the exact same issue. I uploaded a PDF, sent it, then tried to correct it. I receive the error “The API request is forbidden. Request blocked due to excess usage.” I’m not sure what “excess usage” means given that I have only sent the document for signing one time to a single recipient. As a trial user this is a terrible first impression of your service and it does not inspire the confidence needed to become a paid user.

Same issue just now -- magically solved as soon as I paid for my account.

Hi, Can someone advise me as well? I’m facing the same API issue as all mentioned above. However I do need to test if this docusign thing is for my office. Would love is someone could help asap.

Thank you.

I have started using it and really like it. There’s a lot of flexibility in the use of templates, once you’ve created them. Speeds up the process of drafting and signing immensely. On the other hand, the “free trial” is a total mess - I have to think it’s by mistake and not intention, but who knows. The issues resolve as soon as you create a paid account.

Hi, That’s odd, why create a free plan so people can actually test it when you already know people can't test it at all. Does this give a guarantee that it will be fixes if you sign up for a paid version?.
