I have a service agreement that can be filled out by 1 of 9 school districts. I have a dropdown on a webform with the 9 districts as choices. This is the functionality I want to achieve:

- When a district is selected from the dropdown, the district information (address, city, state, zip, etc.) is automatically filled.
- The recipient for the signature is different depending on the district. I want the signature request to go to the superintendent of whichever district is selected in the form field.

Is this possible? Is there another way to set this up to achieve the functionality I am looking for?

Yes, the setup you described is possible in Docusign. For the part where the envelope should be sent to the correct superintendent, you would need to use advanced recipient routing. This feature enables you to create rules that automatically route the envelope to the corresponding superintendent based on the selected district in the form.
For automatically filling in the district information such as address, city, state, and ZIP, you can use conditional fields on your template. You can create a separate set of address fields for each district and configure them to appear only when that district is selected from the dropdown. This ensures that the correct information is displayed automatically.

You can also choose to display these fields during the questionnaire if you want the signer to review or update the information, but this step is optional.

If you found the response to be a useful solution to your question, please “like” and mark it as the best answer by clicking “Select as Best” to make it easier for other users to find. Thank you!

We have purchased the advanced recipient routing feature and that is working fine. Am I understanding correctly that I have to create a separate set of fields for each district rather than just use one set of fields and populate the data based on the district selected in the dropdown? That sounds like a headache (and an incredibly messy PDF template with 9 overlapping fields in multiple places).

Hello @sjacklin
Yes, you will need to create a separate set of fields for each district and apply conditional logic so each set displays only when its corresponding district is selected.

It sounds like this is going to be turned into a feature request because the current method is ridiculous. I can’t imagine creating that many overlapping fields on several thousand documents by hand.
