Want to ensure that the right person is accessing your envelopes to sign? Try using access codes when sending! Access codes are similar to a “password” that you can create. Recipients need to enter that access code in order to access the envelope and sign. Let’s walk through some fast facts:

  • Access codes are free to utilize! There is no fee charged per use.
  • Access codes are applied in the recipient area of an envelope under the “Customize” drop down menu.
  • Access codes can include numbers, letters, and special characters. They are not case sensitive!
    • DS Admins can set rules related to access codes within the Admin > Security Settings area.
      • For example: Rules must contain X number of characters, special characters, uppercase letters, etc.
  • Once an access code is applied for a recipient, it is the responsibility of the sender to distribute the code. The sender could send a separate email with the code, text the code, etc.

To begin using access codes, refer to this article from the Docusign Support site.
