Our client is utilizing DocuSign Apps Launcher, and using DocuSign Envelope Templates to tag Documents for Clients to fill out.  Some of the information they would like to have pre-populated from Salesforce, so we added the Merge Fields.

The settings for the Merge Fields are to not write back to Salesforce, yet any updates made on the documents are writing back to the identified merged field in Salesforce.

How can we stop the updates from coming back into Salesforce?  We need the forms to populate with the information known, but if it’s not in Salesforce, and is added after the document has been generated, we do not want those updates going back into Salesforce.

Hello @elavoie,

Thanks for reaching out to the Docusign Community -- great to have you here!

To confirm, were you using DAL or DFS?

In DAL, writeback to Salesforce is yes controlled by the Merge Field configuration in either Salesforce DAL > Docusign Envelope Template > Merge Fields or in the Docusign Web Portal under Document Custom Fields
In DFS, Merge Fields are primarily configured in the Docusign Web Portal via Document Custom Fields; however, there is also an alternative to configure Connect Objects to update certain Salesforce Fields.
