In this recent Community event, Alexandre Augusto, Senior Technical Trainer at Docusign University, tackled some of the most common envelope questions from the Community. The session focused on envelope setup, limitations, document visibility, and real-time feature demonstrations.

Below, you’ll find key learnings from the event and the full recording.

Key takeaways:

  • Multilingual sending: You can customize each recipient’s experience by setting their email and interface language. While documents aren’t auto-translated, pre-translated versions can be uploaded, and the interface can be switched to Spanish, Portuguese, and more.

  • Recipient & delivery limits: Docusign envelopes can support up to 99 recipients. If using SMS or WhatsApp delivery, keep in mind it’s limited to five recipients per envelope and only available for “needs to sign” or “receives a copy” roles.

  • Document visibility: Document visibility lets you control who sees what in an envelope. It’s useful when one signer doesn’t need to view everything, but it must be enabled and doesn’t work with PowerForms or supplemental docs.

  • Envelope correction: Mistake in your envelope? If nothing’s been signed, you can replace documents and update recipients. If some have signed, you can still add new documents or recipients—but signed files can’t be replaced.

  • Same signer, different steps: Want to show different documents to the same person? Add them twice with different signing orders to customize what they see at each step.
