Time Zone change, how to do it in my case?

I have my own DocuSign account. In addition, I can use an approver’s secondary email address (let’s call it “email address A” for convenience), which I received for this process. The approver also has a primary email address (email address B) linked to his DocuSign account.

Currently, I am executing DocuSign using email address A and would like to create a guest account for it, but I’m unable to do so. As a result, I cannot set the correct time zone for email address A.
Do you think that if email address A were properly registered with DocuSign, I would be able to set its time zone?

Email address A does not have its own DocuSign account. However, it appears in the DocuSign template, so any document that uses this template is automatically sent to email address A.

Hello @Yukiko

Thank you for reaching out here in Docusign Community.

I’d like to clarify how DocuSign handles timezones when a recipient or signer does not have a DocuSign account.

How are time zone account settings used?

How do I modify time zone settings for my account?

Time Zone, Date Format, and Language

If the recipient does not have an account, DocuSign will use the sender’s timezone for all timestamps shown in the envelope, including the “Date Signed.”.

If the sender’s timezone is not customized, DocuSign will follow the default timezone set by the sender’s DocuSign account admin.

If the recipient wants timestamps to follow their own local timezone, they would need to create a free DocuSign account and set their preferred timezone in their profile settings.

Hi Marco,

Thank you for your reply.
First, let me address your question. Email address A is used in the same way as a counterparty outside our company, but it is based on a template. That is why DocuSign envelopes are sent to email address A, even though it does not have an account.
The sender accounts in my company are managed under my account (which is authorized as an admin), and my account is managed by the Head Office in Singapore. Therefore, I understand that if my admin account changes the time zone, all accounts managed under my account will automatically follow. Consequently, the time zone for email address A will also be updated.

I will explain this to my team and proceed with making the change. We were unable to change the setting without certain prerequisites. Thank you so much!

Hello @Yukiko

I hope you are doing well.

To address your question regarding the timezone behavior, when a recipient or signer does not have a DocuSign account such as in the case of email address A the envelope will follow the sender’s timezone settings.

If the sender's timezone is not individually set, it will default to the timezone configured at the account level by your DocuSign admin.

Since the sender accounts in your company are managed under your admin account, and your admin account is centrally managed by the Head Office in Singapore, updating the timezone at the admin level will automatically apply to all users under that structure.

As a result, the timezone for email address A will also be updated accordingly, even though it does not have its own DocuSign login.

I agree that explaining this clearly to your team before making the adjustment is a good approach. Please feel free to proceed with the change once your prerequisites are met.

If there’s anything else you need help with, I’m here to assist.
