I work for a construction company. Currently, I have set up a basic template for each document (Purchase Order, Subcontract, Commitment Change Order, Potential Change Order, Prime Contract Change Order, etc.). In the basic template, I set up the fields for each role (Project Manager, Project Executive, Group Manager, Architect, Owner, etc.). For each project, I create a copy of each template and fill in the project-specific user information for each role.

Is there a way to autofill the user information for each role within each project so that I don’t have to fill each document template out for each project every time? Also, is there a way to get the project-specific templates to pull information from the basic templates so that if there is a change in a document’s role workflow, I only have to enter that change into the base template?

Hello @N_Pen1,

Welcome to the Docusign Community!

Thank you for sharing the details of your workflow. I understand how helpful it would be to update roles once and have those changes apply across all your project templates. Unfortunately, DocuSign doesn’t have a feature that allows recipient role fields or routing setups to auto‑populate or inherit updates from a base template. Each template keeps its own separate recipient configuration, so any changes still need to be updated individually.

I hope this helps clarify things! Let us know if you have any further questions.
