What happens to the notification email when two people have to sign?

Can someone please explain what happens when there are two people who need to sign the document? Does it get sent to the first signer then only after they sign it does it get sent to the second signer? Does that process happen automatically? Does the signing always have to go in order or can it get sent to both parties at the same time?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out here in the DocuSign Community.

Thank you, Kim, for the link to the tutorial.

There is this feature called Signing Order, which can be enabled during the recipient's adding stage, and when enabled, what you can do is set an order on how and who you would like your document to be signed by first, second, third, etc. if you have 2 signers, and you set one of them as number 1 and the second signer as number 2, then, until number 1 is finished signing, number 2 will get the envelope to sign (this is an automatic process).

If you disable the Signing Order feature, then the envelope will go out to all the recipients at the same time.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Here's an excellent tutorial: https://youtu.be/CYxUVI8QYLw

You can determine if there's a specific order for signatures.

Is there a way to send the documents to both signers at the same time and still receive a notification when it is my turn to sign? Will that work if I put both signers as ‘1’ for the signing order and myself as ‘2’?

Thank you!
