Hello @Katonks,
Upon checking on our resources, yes you can upload an excel workbook with tabs. Docusign will convert the workbook into a PDF where each tab is a separate page.
Please see this article Limitations When Creating or Signing an Envelope in Docusign for your reference.
File Size Limit
When creating or signing an envelope in Docusign, there are certain limitations to keep in mind. One limitation is the file size. Envelopes that exceed a certain size may encounter performance issues. Therefore, envelopes are restricted to a maximum of 130 unique documents.
Each individual document in an envelope has a file size limit as well. To check the file size of your document, locate it on your computer, right-click, and select Properties.
| Maximum file size per upload to an envelope, using Docusign UI | 25 MB |
| Maximum file size per one-shot upload to an envelope, using API | 33 MB |
| Maximum file size when using chunked uploads to upload documents | 50 MB |
| Recommended file size | 5 MB |
| Maximum number of pages per document | 2,000 pages |
For best performance, Docusign recommends restricting your file uploads to no more than 5 MB.
For the completed PDF to be included with the completed email notification, the size cannot exceed 5MB. If the completed documents are larger than 5MB, the documents are not attached to the email; instead the email provides a link to the envelope in the Docusign web application.
Note: These file size limits apply to all web document sources and upload features, including uploading signer attachments while signing, and adding documents to an envelope from external sources such as Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
Recipient Limit
There is a limit of 99 recipients per envelope, regardless of the recipient type. If you exceed this limit, an error will occur, and the envelope cannot be sent.
SMS Delivery Recipients
When using SMS Delivery, there are limitations to keep in mind. A maximum of five SMS recipients can be included per envelope.
Additionally, an envelope with one or more SMS delivery recipients can generate up to 50 SMS notifications as a reasonable use limitation. These notifications include various communications to ensure signers have the optimal experience. However, after reaching the 50 SMS notification limit, no more SMS messages will be sent, although email notifications will continue. The envelope details view will indicate that SMS messages have been suspended due to the limit.
- SMS document access: When envelopes are delivered to SMS-only, the recipient will only have access to the documents via SMS. In the future we will allow creation and tying of accounts to a phone number, at which time the envelope will automatically appear in the recipient's Docusign account.
- Limited recipient types: SMS delivery can be applied to signer, carbonCopy, or certifiedDelivery (Needs to Sign, Needs to View, and Receives a Copy) recipients only.
- SMS reminders: While senders can specify any schedule for SMS reminder messages, only up to 1 SMS reminder notification can be sent (additional notifications will be email only). This limit protects signers from potential spam abuse.
- Phone Call and SMS identity verification: SMS delivery cannot be used with SMS/phone-based two-factor authentication. Because these methods of verifying identity would send the authentication challenge using the same communication channel as the SMS notification, they would not provide the intended extra level of security. You can still use access code, KBA, or other custom ID solutions to implement recipient authentication. Environments such as SBS may be restricted from using all phone-based authentication.
- Messages to recipients: Sender-specified messages are not included in SMS notifications. This includes the email message to all recipients and any private messages defined on the envelope or template. Messages are still included on the email notification and are shown when documents are opened to be viewed and signed.
- Signing groups: Signing group recipients cannot use SMS delivery.
- PowerForms: SMS delivery cannot be used with PowerForms.
- Bulk send: SMS delivery cannot be used for bulk send recipients.
Field Limitation
Certain field types have the following limitations:
- Draw fields are limited to a maximum of 10 per envelope. If you include more than 10 drawing fields, an error will occur, and the envelope cannot be sent.
- Additionally, entries to text-type envelope custom fields are limited to 100 characters.
- The maximum number of custom fields that can be allowed to be added across all documents in a single envelope is 1,000.
Electronic Seals
When using electronic seals, there are some considerations. Electronic seals are applied by default to all documents in the envelope. If you only want to seal specific documents within the envelope and not all of them, you must use the eSignature API. It is recommended by Docusign engineers to keep envelopes using electronic seals to a maximum of 5 documents.
