Hi,

I have a signing group of 4 people and two of them have to sign each document I send. How to I make it the easiest way possible?

I understand that you would like to send an envelope, and specific members of a Signing Group need to sign. Please take a look at the details below for your option.

  • Understand Signing Group Behavior

When you send an envelope to a signing group, any member can sign on behalf of the group. Once one member signs, the envelope is marked as complete for that group.

  • If Specific Members Must Sign

Set a signing order. You may put the signing group as the first recipient. Add the two specific individuals (with their names and email addresses) as second recipients.
Assign signature fields to these individuals to ensure they must complete their part before the envelope is finalized.

  • Alternative Approach

If you know which two members need to sign each document, you can bypass the signing group. Instead, create the envelope with those two individuals as recipients and directly place signature fields for them.

Hello, @oliwia . I see your request and also that Docusign’s response doesn’t seem to have answered it.

If I understand correctly you need two signatures in a document, and it needs to come from two people in the same signing group. That is, any two distinct people from the same signing group.

Docusign’s suggestions don’t work for this.

Did you find a solution for it that actually fits your needs? I’ve been using combinations of solutions but they stop being feasible at some point.

For example, if any two of a three-person group need to sign, there’s no way to set it up in DocuSign that guarantees the same person can’t sign twice.

For larger groups the solutions are bad. They require splitting the group into two groups so only one group gets the first sign request and and another gets the second. But this is problematic when all the people in the second group are unavailable and most from the first are available. (not rare when you have two and two or two and three).

I see you clicked “like” so maybe DocuSign’s response was actually useful for you. If so I may be misunderstanding.
