I would like to use a generic template then add a different page for each recipient I need to sign. Can this be done?

Yes, using Document Visibility feature in DocuSign eSignature.
Document visibility must be enabled by your account administrator. If the options are not visible, it likely means that visibility is disabled in your account, in which case you'll need to contact Customer Support.
For you to select which documents your recipients can view, your administrator will need to set the option to "Sender can set 'must sign to view unless Sender'" and save the settings.
