Hi All,

I would like to ask for clarification regarding the use of SMS verification codes.

Does the verification code sent viac SMS appear only during the initial registration process, or is it also required each time I log in to my DocuSign account?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Svetlana

Hi @Svetlana !

Sorry if I didn't understand your question correctly, but would you like to know more details about the additional security verification for your recipients or would it be about the Two-Step Verification that users of your account can use to access Docusign (to manage envelopes)?

If you are referring to SMS authentication of your recipients, I recommend you to watch this video belowand check the following article: How Phone Authentication Works

However, if you want to know more about the Two-Step Verification that will affect how your users will log in to the platform, I recommend you read this article below: Set Up Two-Step Verification With Text or Call

Please, let me know if I was able to help you with this question. If so, could you please select click on the "Select as Best" option? Thank you!

Hello @Svetlana
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.
SMS verification codes are not limited to the initial registration process. While they may be required during the initial registration if enabled by the account administrator, they can also be used for subsequent logins, especially when accessing envelopes from new devices or browsers.

  • Subsequent Logins:

    • New Devices/Browsers: If an account administrator has enabled "Recipient Authentication Settings" requiring authentication every time an envelope is accessed, then SMS verification (or other methods like access codes) may be triggered upon logging in from a new device or browser.
    • Specific Envelopes: Even if not enabled for general login, SMS verification can be required for specific envelopes if the sender chooses to enable it.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you!
