Hello!

Envelope was cancelled, but supplier still receives regular reminders that he has a task in DS. How does this work? Does the envelope have to be cancelled so that he no longer receives messages?

Thanx

Hello @Franziska,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! I appreciate you bringing your question to this Community. We are absolutely delighted to have you here and can't wait to share our knowledge with you.

If a DocuSign envelope is cancelled (voided), recipients should not receive further reminders related to that specific envelope. Once an envelope is voided, it becomes inactive, and recipients can no longer take any action on the documents. Reminders are to prompt recipients to complete their actions within an active envelope.

If they kept receiving a reminder for that envelope, it is possible that the envelope is still an in-progress envelope; they could open it and select the “Decline to sign” option to cancel it

You may also consider checking the following from your end.

  • Double-check the envelope status, whether it is fully voided or cancelled, and whether the correct envelope ID is referenced.
  • Verify there are no duplicates or additional envelopes awaiting action from the recipient.

If the reminder continues, after following these steps, it is recommended that you open a support case to investigate and resolve the issue.  Open a case in the Docusign Support Center

I hope this is helpful. If you consider the response above useful, please click “Select as Best” to mark it as the “Best Answer ✅.” This will assist other users with similar questions in finding it more easily. Thank you!
