We use DocuSign as both internal and external tool to sign document and it is very difficult to have a report with internal vs external envelopes. Especially with the Envelope Recipient Report limitation of only 50000 rows at a time, we have to general several chunks of reports and merge if the data is over a long period. Is it possible to run a volume report instead?

These are system-wide max settings that are not adjustable:

Max rows for in-app display is 5,000

Max rows for CSV download is 50,000

If you have an Account Manager, you can contact them to request for an increase in the default setting for the maximum records only for scheduled reports. Moreover, you can submit feedback and enhancement requests through the Ideas platform. This is the most effective way to ensure your suggestion is visible to both Docusign and the entire Docusign Community. When you submit an enhancement request this way, you can check on the status of your request at any time, and other users can upvote your request. Docusign uses this upvote data to prioritize enhancement requests and work on updates that have the greatest impact on our customers. The workaround suggested is not good enough as we are looking for the envelopes for a year which means we have at least 250K lines of data which we have to download in several chunks and then merge, After merging we have several filters that we apply on the data which is not available on the report interface. It would have saved us time to download fewer data in the first place. Then apply some formula to calculate the number of envelopes. in the end, we are not even sure that it’s up to us to calculate this data, should be provided. I have submitted the idea but, in the meantime, do you have a documentation on this that we should follow to have the internal and external number of envelopes?
Does your DocuSign billing plan treat internal and external envelopes differently? To my knowledge, that internal/external designation is not a thing in DocuSign.

Can you please elaborate on what you meant by external envelopes and what you are trying to achieve (in detail)? Reports will only generate results of internal envelopes. For me, this means envelopes sent from all users of your account, not including those received (sent from external users of the account/organization). Meanwhile, suppose you only need the number of envelopes sent from the account, you may use the Envelope Volume Report or Account Activity Report under Column: Envelopes Sent: It will show the total number of envelopes sent from the account during the report time period.

The external envelopes mean any envelopes being used outside our organisation. After extracting the Envelope Recipient report, we select all the emails in the "Recipient Email" column that contain certain specific texts. We also apply other filters like select everything contains "AppName:DocuSignIt", unique Envelope ID" to remove duplicates. I doubt the Envelope Volume report or Account Activity report is as specific. I contacted someone from Docusign already and have asked for an enhancement.
