Am I the only one noticing that each Docusign’s signed pdf are now 1Mo heavier since mid July?
Before July 18th, my 300Ko compressed empty pdf was transformed by Docusign into a 900ko to 1,1Mo signed pdf; but now, the same 300Ko empty pdf is more than 1,8-1,9Mo and can go up to 2,1Mo afted Docusin’s signature process, but with absolutely no change in the fields to be completed or the number of signatories.

Doing so, my enveloppes including 3 to 4 contracts/documents are now more than 5Mo and Docusign no longer join my signed pdf in CC of the completion email ; and we have to download them from the ‘afficher les documents complétés’ link that expires in 48h.

From my perspective it is a waste of time for our commercial and sales administration teams. But from a larger perspective, this increased weight has a huge impact on all our storage/email platforms capabilites. If you combine the estimated hundred of millions Docusign documents signed every year, can you imagine the différence this additionnal 1Mo per document makes?

Please comment if you encountered the same problem.
Did anyone find a way to reduce the signed pdfs?

I asked Docusign for a longer availability of the ‘afficher les documents complétés’ link, since I don’t understand the “security” issue justifying this short timing or number of clicks… Why could we make this link available for a week at least.

Hi @FGS,

Welcome to the Docusign Community— we’re happy to have you here and want you to know that we're all about sharing knowledge and supporting each other.

We understand that you've experienced issues with documents not being attached to completion emails due to file size, and the inconvenience of expired links in completed notification emails. We sincerely apologize for these difficulties.

Our research indicates no recent specific changes reported by DocuSign that would directly cause these issues. Document size is influenced by several factors, such as the fields added to it. While DocuSign currently does not offer a built-in feature to automatically compress a completed document, you can optimize your documents before creating an envelope or template. These optimization methods include flattening your document or converting it to PDF format prior to uploading to DocuSign. Sharing instructions here

For unauthenticated users, as a security measure, the envelope links in email notifications automatically expire after five clicks or 48 hours. However, if you add an access code and account security settings require signers to authenticate every time they view documents, then the link will not expire.
