Is there any way to print or preview a draft envelope to send to a client for verification? For example, we use draft envelopes to start filling out a contract but want to occasionally send them a preview of their cost sheet for verification or modifications before we send the final contact to sign. Is there any way I can set up something to do this?
Hello
Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community! We're grateful for your question, and we're happy to help share as much knowledge as possible.
I understand you're looking for a way to Print or Preview your Draft envelopes before sending your final contract. Great question!
You can download or print your Draft envelopes. To do so, you can follow these steps:
- Navigate to your Drafts folder.
- Click on the Subject.
- On the right side of the page, you will find options to "Download" or "Print".

You can share the copy with your recipient outside of Docusign.
📌Heads up:
- These are hard copies, so interactive field boxes such as signature and text boxes will not be visible on the printed or downloaded version.
- By default, draft envelopes are stored in your account for 30 days from the date they were created. After 30 days, drafts are removed from your account and purged from the system. Your account administrator can set a custom retention period for draft envelopes from 30 to 120 days. 👉 Set Draft Envelope Retention Periods

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this print/download does not contain any of the form data that I have filled out and need included, like calculated formula amounts. Is there a way to get that data included?

Hello
Thanks for getting back to me. How about temporarily assigning the fields to you? Under the recipient's information, enter your name and email. Click Close and Save. Go to Drafts and download it again.
Let me know how that goes or if you need anything else!

That doesn’t work. I made sure that the fields were assigned to myself and saved the draft, but the download and print previews are blank. If I continue to edit the draft and go to the preview there, I get some text data, but not the calculated formulas.

Hi
Sorry for the late revert. I did some tests. Like yours, I can only see the text data, and the formula field does not generate results in preview. This is the same information that is shown when downloading it from drafts. Whatever the information in the preview is, the same information that would show on the downloaded PDF from drafts. And since the formula field is incompatible with preview, it's expected that it will also not show in the downloaded PDF.
