Is it possible to add an internal approval level as the first person to see a document before it is then sent onwards for signatories? Basically want a manager to review documents before they are sent externally. We have eSignature Business Pro Edition for SFDC.

Thanks

Hello Michelle,

In addition to Rodolfo’s solution, you can also just make them the first recipient in the routing order as a “Needs to Sign” Recipient and add an “Approve” or “Decline” button for them to move the envelope forward or void it to restart. Not all plans support the advanced recipient types like “Allow to Edit”, so you may not have that option.

Thanks,

Hello @Michelle Mason ,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Docusign Community. Welcome to the Docusign Community and thank you for posting your concerns!

You set up a signing order on your Recipient List and make the first recipient "Allow to Edit."

By doing this, the first recipient can make changes to the document fields or approve them if there is no need before they are sent to the first signer.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

Hello @rodolfo.napay and @dea.allgood we have a similar scenario to the above, however would like to submit a document for internal review with an additional summary sheet and if approved only the document go out to next recipient and not the summary sheet, is this possible?

Does this option of pre approval come with a Standard Docusign account?

Hello @BrieannG
Unfortunately, the Approve/Decline feature is unavailable in the Standard Plan. For Web Plans, it is available in Docusign for Realtors, Business Pro, Advanced API, IAM Starter, IAM Standard, and IAM Professional.

“allow to edit” is restricted to certain plans, but you should be able to put them on there as first recipient to have them initial it or make a required text box that’s empty and limited to 1 character.  You can even style it so the color is white so it doesn’t visually show up.
