Is there a way to view a historic DocuSign document as it was presented presented to you, rather than the completed version?

Hello @bajd5799,

Thank you for your reply.

Is the document already signed and completed? You may consider asking the sender to provide a copy of the certificate of completion. The Certificate of Completion (CoC) provides identifying information about the envelope and complete details of the envelope events.

If you suspect that it is a scam, you may check this link for incident reporting: https://www.docusign.com/trust/security/incident-reporting

I hope this information helps. Should you require any additional assistance, feel free to reach out. Thank you!

Hi Jenny

Am I able to share some DocuSign documents that quite frankly look rather weird to me? I suspect a scam but I can’t be certain. I have 4 or 5 separate documents that I’d be looking for insight on?

I think maybe I asked their lawyer question the wrong way…instead I am looking for what steps who a DocuSign creator need to take to remove any trace of a previous DocuSign envelope ID in a new DocuSign document? I assume it would have to be done with deliberate actions and could never be considered accidental?

Hello @bajd5799,

I hope you're doing well. Thank you for your reply. I noticed that this is related to one of your posts: scrubbing envelop IDs

To clarify, removing an Envelope ID is not something that can happen accidentally - this action can only be performed before an envelope is sent. Send a Document Without the Envelope ID on It

However, as mentioned in another thread, this may not always be intentional; it is possible that the user created a new envelope for each transaction. If they reupload or forward the completed envelope and create a new envelope from it, this will also generate a new Envelope ID.

But if you think that this is suspicious, you can refer to this link for incident reporting. Recognizing and Reporting Suspicious Activities | Incident Reporting - Security Concerns

I guess I’m suspicious because there was a lot of misconduct in the transaction to begin with and prior deals I had done with the realtor often saw multiple IDs on the documents, which I assumed was a result of downloading and re-uploading offers and counteroffers, which I think is probably considered administratively sloppy but in the last transaction, it was different. For each of 3 instances, the initial offer, my counter offer and the accepted offer, each had their own ID and no trace of the prior ID even though it was essentially the same document
