Hengfeng Ge: I guess I’m still confused. I am trying to understand what Completed means above a non-signing recipient’s name when they had no action to complete since they were only sent a copy of the document. I’m wondering if Docusign has a training or instructional guide including screenshots of sample envelopes in various states of completion which explains what the various terms used by docusign mean in describing the status of signing and non-signing recipients?

​@Brino Have you check the second url what I share? all the status of recipient which show in the web console for envelope. becuase there are routerorder for recipient, it means the order for this recipient is finished.

Yes I looked at the second url but it doesn’t really help because the second url seems more directed to signing recipients, not non-signing recipients who are merely sent cc: a copy of the document. My understanding is that when the non-signing recipient opens and views the document that was sent i.e.cc: to her, the action is then Completed and the term Completed is then put above her name but that doesn’t mean the document is completed, i.e. signed by the signing recipient or does it? So I’m still really confused.

there are for no-signing recipients:

• Copy Received - The email notification was sent to a cc: recipient. When the recipient views the document, the date is recorded.
• Needs to View - The recipient has not yet viewed the document.
• Viewed - The Needs to View recipient reviewed the document on the date specified.

mr1 So are you saying the non-signing recipient doesn’t even have to open and view the document to achieve the Completed status?

According to google ai, the non-signing recipient has to view the document as well, Here’s what they say:

When "COMPLETED" appears above a non-signing recipient's name in a document, it
means that this recipient has received their copy of the document and has completed their
required action , which in this case is simply to view the document, even though they did
not need to sign it; essentially, they have been notified and have access to the fully signed
document.

I wish somebody could confirm that viewing of the document has to occur.
