Is there a solution to correct envelopes in bulk

We sent nearly 1,000 sales agreements, each requiring signatures from eight parties. The customer was the first signer, followed by our internal team and management. One of the signers was a manager who has recently left the company, and now we are facing challenges in correcting the envelopes to replace or remove them.

Is there an option in DocuSign to bulk correct these envelopes instead of manually updating each one? If not, is there an alternative solution to streamline this process?

@neethujkp

DocuSign does not currently offer a built-in “bulk correct” feature through its standard web interface. However, you can streamline recipient changes on a large scale by using the DocuSign eSignature API. This allows you (or a developer on your team) to write a script or application that systematically updates or replaces the departed signer’s information across many envelopes in one workflow, rather than fixing each one manually.

The best practice is to set up delegation for managers before they leave the company to ensure a smooth transition and avoid disruptions.

@neethujkp

We’ve encountered a similar situation before with a customer who sent up to 10,000 NDAs in a single day for customer signatures. They didn’t modify the default expiration period (120 days), and as the deadline approached, they wanted to reuse these envelopes by updating the signers and extending the expiration date to the maximum allowed value.

Since these bulk modifications couldn’t be done through the DocuSign UI, I wrote a Python script to update the signer and expiration over 500 envelopes, helping the customer maximize their investment.

If you need assistance with a similar bulk update process, feel free to reach out!
