[Inquiry] I would like to inquire about the Location plan.
I'm contacting you because I have some questions about Docusign.
1. When A, B, and C personal accounts in a certain department are being used in the Admin account with permission to use, I want to give permission to D personal accounts in other departments in the Admin account.
At this time, I would like to know if D can use Docusign without allowing D personal accounts to view documents from existing A, B, C personal accounts.
I would like to know if each department can restrict access rights.
2. If I create an Admin account for each department and want to authorize it by creating a higher Admin account above it,
please check if I can transfer documents, and works from the department's Admin account to a higher management account.

Hi @퀘스쳔 ,
Welcome to the Docusign Community — we're glad you're here, and happy to share knowledge with you.
To ensure we provide the most accurate and helpful advice tailored to your specific use case, we kindly request a bit more context:
If the answer is yes, to confirm my understanding, are you looking to grant user D, who belongs to a separate Docusign account, permission to use within A B and C's account without allowing to view their documents?
And I attached the picture for easy understanding.
Currently, A, B, and C are using individual single account. As shown in the picture, we will create a new ADMIN account that can manage the permissions of the team members. I would like to know if you can set up A, B, C account as Team 1 and D, E account as Team 2 with ADMIN account, so that only the documents of each team they belong to can be read.
As shown in the picture above, there are A, B, and C accounts that were previously using Docusign. After that, we will grant planning permission for our team members' accounts with the newly created ADMIN account. I would like to know if the documents or records used in the existing plan are maintained when the A, B, and C accounts cancel the previous plan and are assigned the plan usage rights to the ADMIN account.
Hey @퀘스쳔,
Appreciate the detailed response 😊
Those individual accounts cannot be directly managed using your Admin account; instead, they must be added as new users. This approach creates new memberships, separate from their current individual accounts 👉 User Management
📌 Heads up: DocuSign does not support merging existing accounts, and users with multiple accounts can easily switch between them. 👉 Switch Accounts and Set a Default Account
As the Administrator, you can configure Shared Access for envelope sharing and agreement management between users 👉 Shared Access to Envelopes
You may consider purchasing DocuSign's Organization feature. This feature consolidates oversight and simplifies administration by providing a centralized management portal. It's beneficial if you have separate accounts for different departments. Please note that this is a paid offering, available with DocuSign's Enhanced plans. I highly recommend contacting our sales team to explore if this is the perfect fit for your needs and determine the best plan for your specific use case. 👉 Connect with our sales team
I hope I answered your question. Let us know if you need further assistance—we're here for you!

Hello again, Melanie!
Your answer last time was helpful to some extent.
But I still have a lot of questions, so I'm asking you to organize them again.
If account A is using a Standard plan, do you mean that if you create a new ADMIN account to subscribe to the Standard plan and add account A as a sub-seat of the ADMIN account, account A will have two sub-accounts of the ADMIN account with the same e-mail address? If we proceed with the above, will A account be charged separately for the amount of the Standard Plan originally used and the Standard Plan fee incurred by entering the lower sheet of the ADMIN account?
If marketing and legal teams want to use Docusign, is it better to create one company-wide top management account to put marketing and legal team members in the bottom sheet of the top account, and then designate marketing and legal team members as marketing groups and legal team members as legal team groups? Or would it be better to create a management account of the marketing team and a management account of the legal team, and add it as a subsheet of their respective management accounts? The purpose is to make it impossible to access documents from different teams.
Hello! @Melanie.Panguito
I'm contacting you again because there's no answer to the previous question.
I want you to check the above and give me an answer again.
Hi @퀘스쳔
Thanks for resurfacing. I apologize if my previous explanation was unclear. To illustrate, let's consider an example regarding DocuSign account management and user roles. When you create a DocuSign account and subscribe to a Standard plan as the sole user, you are automatically designated as the Account Administrator. To add additional users, you will need to purchase "seats" within your subscription. For instance, if you add "User A" using their email address, you can then assign them a permission profile such as DocuSign Administrator, Sender, or Viewer. The DocuSign account number for User A will be the same as your primary DocuSign account number, as they operate within your account structure. It is important to note that User A's other DocuSign accounts (with different account numbers) cannot be merged into your account, and you cannot manage them from your administrative interface. While User A would be responsible for the subscription costs of any separate DocuSign accounts they maintain, they do have the option to cancel the subscription of that independent account to convert it to a free plan.
If users A, B, C (Team 1) and D, E (Team 2) are added as users under the same DocuSign account, by default each user can only see their own envelopes. There is no inherent visibility into other users' envelopes within the same account. Access to other users' envelopes only happens if an Admin sets up Shared Access permissions to allow envelope viewing across users. So, even though A, B, C are in Team 1 and D, E in Team 2 under one account, without Shared Access configured, users cannot see each other's envelopes. Therefore, the only way to let users see each other's envelopes in the same account is via enabling Shared Access. Otherwise, envelope visibility remains isolated at the individual user level 👉 Share Access with Other Users
Should you wish to create accounts per department, our Organization feature allows for the creation of sub-accounts (This feature is an add-on to Enhanced plans).
We can only provide general guidance, so we would highly recommend contacting our Sales team to speak with a consultant who can provide tailored options and pricing based on your specific use case 👉 Connect with our sales team 😊

Hello! @Melanie.Panguito
If so, I ask you again because I have a question along with the answer you gave me.
As I understand from your reply, does it mean that even if we add other users to one DocuSign account subscribed under Standard plan (even if we assign Seat), other users can only check their own envelopes?
As far as I understand, like email, only sender and receiver can check each other's mail, and only reference person can check it when you make a reference.
Hi @퀘스쳔, that's correct. Users of the same Docusign account can only see their own envelopes they sent and received (envelope recipient). Please see below, highlighted in yellow:

Hello! @Melanie.Panguito
I just want to say that I'm so sorry to keep bothering you. I'll ask you again because I keep getting curious.
1. If so, can the administrator account in charge of sheet allocation and Standard Plan payment read the envelopes of other sub-users assigned to the sheet? Can the administrator read them only if shared access is set up?
2. If I was using my personal email account A as a personal plan. After that, my superior created an account called B, paid for the Standard plan, and gave me a sheet to my email account A. In the above situation, I understood that A account will have two memberships (existing Pro/Allocated Standard), is it correct?
2-1. If there are two memberships, will the envelopes exchanged in the Pro Plan not be accessible in the membership allocated by the Standard Plan?
hey @퀘스쳔. No worries, we love questions, and the Community is here to support you. Please see answers below:
1. If so, can the administrator account in charge of sheet allocation and Standard Plan payment read the envelopes of other sub-users assigned to the sheet? Can the administrator read them only if shared access is set up?
Yes, the Administrator can only access the envelopes if shared access was set up and granted to them for the specific user/s. Note that there are 3 different levels of Shared Access permissions.
2. If I was using my personal email account A as a personal plan. After that, my superior created an account called B, paid for the Standard plan, and gave me a sheet to my email account A. In the above situation, I understood that A account will have two memberships (existing Pro/Allocated Standard), is it correct?
Yes, you're understanding is correct, but let me explain it further. In the scenario described, you have two separate Docusign accounts linked to your email address. This is common in Docusign. Some customers prefer to have an account through work and another account for personal transactions. Let's correspond to the sample Docusign account numbers for easy understanding. Below are your accounts:
Account # 123 - original Personal plan where you are an individual user.
Account # 234 - seat allocated to you under the Standard plan.
2-1. If there are two memberships, will the envelopes exchanged in the Pro Plan not be accessible in the membership allocated by the Standard Plan?
No, envelopes in your personal plan will generally not be accessible within the membership allocated by the standard plan and vice versa. Envelopes are tied to specific account and plan under which they were sent or received. To access envelopes from your personal plan while using the Standard plan allocation, you would need to switch between the accounts or log in to the respective account. Important to note that only you can perform this action, Administrators or users from Account #234 cannot access envelopes associated with your Account #123. 👉Switch Accounts and Set a Default Account

Hello! @Melanie.Panguito
I'm really relieved that you're not uncomfortable with my question.
Is it correct that there are 2 DocuSign accounts in 1 email address, and they can only be viewed for envelopes conducted in each account?
Using the above example of answer, if I want to view the envelope progressed from Account #123 on Account #234, can I give Account #234 shared access to Account #123?
