The envelope was to be signed by two clients and an adviser from our company. The clients have signed but the adviser is now on holiday for two weeks. I want to change the third signatory to an adviser that is in the office and can DocuSign. Will making this correction resend the envelope to the clients to re-sign?

Hi @AlexDyer,

Welcome to the Docusign Community— we're glad you're here, and happy to share knowledge with you.

We understand your concern regarding correcting an envelope and changing a signatory, specifically if it will require clients who have already completed their actions to re-sign. Great question!

Correcting the envelope and replacing the third recipient will not require recipients who have already completed their signing to re-sign the envelope. The original email recipient (the unavailable adviser) will be notified that they no longer have access to the document if they attempt to click "REVIEW DOCUMENTS" in their initial email. The new recipient will then receive the notification to sign the envelope.

Good evening docusign community, I don’t know who´s gonna be the one who´s finally in charge to sign my document from the customer´s side. While the names of the people sigining the contract are not editable after the document has been send out to the first recipient. My contact person is on vacation, I have to send over a contract tomorrow morning and I would like the name and job title, location and date of the signature to be editable from the one who finally signs the document. Could someone please help, it is urgent. I would appreciate this feature for docusign community for future as well. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Wiebke,

Thanks for your question. We know this is urgent, but could you share additional context about your concern? Is this related to envelope correction, editing a template, or PowerForm? If possible, kindly share screenshots illustrating the problem ( please hide Personally Identifiable Information in the screenshot) so we can better understand. That’ll help me (and the Community!) offer the best possible answer and advice.

Hello @Melanie.Panguito ,

Thank you for your question. I think I didn't express myself clearly or explain my question properly.
It often happens that when I create an envelope, I only know the two contracting parties, but I don't yet know who the named contracting party will be who will sign the contract.
I work a lot with customers who have several authorized signatories who can be substituted at will.
Therefore, it would be advantageous if the signing company could enter the name and job title of the signatory or signatories itself.
I really miss this feature.

Hello @Wiebke, no problem, I appreciate you getting back to me.

You can still correct in-progress envelopes to update recipient information👉 Correct an Envelope

Furthermore, Docusign offers Agent Managed roles, in this case— Specify Recipients feature, which is useful when you do not know who the eventual signers will be. This manager recipient will receive your envelope and fill in the name and email address for any role recipients. When you prepare the envelope, you add a specify recipients manager, followed by any role recipients for the manager to review and specify. Here are the comprehensive guides:

Not sure if this is helpful for your use case, but to share, depending on the sender's settings and envelope configuration, the original signer may have the option to reassign the signing responsibility to another person 👉 Change Signing Responsibility.
