My manager and I send numerous legal documents externally for completion and signature return via DocuSign on a quarterly basis.

We first draft, compose and complete the Word version templates, then upload the templates to DocuSign for usage. We tag the document custom fields properties (e.g., data source) and use bulk send (e.g., csv open file format in Excel).  After we approve the final documents and package for transmittal via DocuSign, we would like to have the ability to download and save the “incomplete and unsigned” documents (prior to sending to individuals for their completion and signatures) in our internal PC system.

We are both unable to solve and complete this simple task and seeing if the DocuSign Community can assist.

Any advice and direction will be much appreciated .

The “incomplete and unsigned” version refers to the Word document you uploaded for the Bulk Send. You cannot download the generated documents with the merged data, as they are automatically sent out for signature during the same process.

If you access the envelopes directly after sending, you may be able to download the initial version before the recipient has opened or signed the document.

There is no “incomplete and unsigned” version in DocuSign eSignature that you can download. Only one version of the document exists at any given time. This version will change during the signature workflow from “unsigned” to “signed” and may have different versions in between when there are multiple signers. You can always download the current version when you access the envelope.
