I opened a document to sign from an email, signed the document successfully, then the option to save it to my account popped up, I entered the details and used the Biometric option to verify and then the browser crashed. I cannot get back to the state when viewing my signed document to assign it to my account. Using the Chrome browser seems to help with the Biometric crash problem experienced in Brave, but anyway, now I open the signed document from the followup email of Completed Signing, I get to it again as a unauthenticated viewer, but there is no option to save it to my account. How can I do this?
Hello
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! I appreciate you bringing your question to this Community. We are absolutely delighted to have you here and can't wait to share our knowledge with you.
If you have an existing Docusign account during signing, your signed document should automatically be saved to your account. You can check this by logging in to your Docusign account and looking in your “Inbox” or “Completed” folder under the Agreements tab.

Thanks Jenny.
I do have a Docusign account and signed the document through a link from an email, but I was not signed into the account. I’m trying to attach the document now, after it has been signed, to my account. I do not see an option to do this but surely there is a simple way to do this, I have to assume. Thanks for any advice.
Hello
I hope you are doing well.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. To check further, could you send me the envelope ID via private message, please?
Best regards,

Thanks for your response
Before I share any information, could you please confirm your official DocuSign affiliation and whether this is the standard process for troubleshooting issues involving envelope IDs? I want to make sure I'm following security best practices.
If there’s a more secure or official support channel I should be using, please let me know.
Thanks for your understanding.
Hi
I want to clarify if you would like to upload a copy of the signed envelope in your Docusign account just to keep a copy or are you trying to send it back to the sender?
Here are two options for you.
- To upload a signed envelope on your Docusign account and keep a copy, follow these steps:
Start a new envelope: Click "Start" > "Send an Envelope" on your dashboard.
Upload the document: Click "Upload" and select the signed document you want to keep.
Choose the return method: You can either keep a copy of the signed document or receive it back from the signer.
Complete the envelope: Follow the prompts to finalize the envelope and send it to the signer.
Note: Depending on your account plan, you may have additional options for managing envelopes
To upload your documents as the return method, follow these instructions. Note that if you've already downloaded the documents but quit or timed out before returning your documents, download the documents again and return using these instructions.
- Save the documents to your computer, by selecting DOWNLOAD.
- Using your normal printing method, print the documents you saved to your computer. Complete and sign the printed pages as needed.
Create an electronic file version of the documents (for example scan the documents and save them as a file on your computer).
In the Print & Sign: Download Document dialog box, select RETURN DOCUMENT.
- Select UPLOAD A FILE with the file browser select the electronic file version of the documents.
Select the signed electronic file version of your document to upload.
Note: In some cases, you are automatically logged off from the signing process when printing, signing, and creating an electronic file takes too long. If you are logged off, you must start again. Open the OTHER ACTIONS menu, selecting Print & Sign, and download the documents.
- The file is uploaded and the file name and number of pages are shown in the dialog box. If you selected the incorrect file, select the file name to remove the file and upload the correct file.
- To send the document, select FINISH.
You have successfully completed signing your documents.
After all the signers have completed signing, you receive an email confirming document completion and giving you the option to download a PDF copy of the completed documents.
Let me know if you need further help. Thank you.
