Does anyone know how to give other users in a workgroup access to check where the envelope is in the signing ceremony, to determine which approver/signer has yet to sign the document.  This is especially helpful for time-sensitive documents to allow someone other than the owner/sender to know which signer the document is waiting on.   There are times when signers may not receive emails or the email has been typed in incorrectly.

It would be beneficial if a signing group could be given access to the signing progress of an in-process envelope as part of an ownership rule when the envelope is sent.  I envision something like an ownership rule like “when an envelope with custom field “x” is sent, the ownership/access to envelope is transferred to “Signing group” or the like?

Does anyone have any ideas how this may done in the platform without creating a service account user, perhaps even with Power Automate, PowerBI?

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions - CW

Hello @CEW -- Thanks for reaching out.

You’re absolutely right -- having visibility into the envelope’s signing progress can be crucial, especially for time-sensitive workflows.

Currently, Docusign offers a feature called Shared Access, which enables one user to view, manage, and send envelopes on behalf of another user. However, Shared access must be granted individually—group-level access is not supported at this time.

Here’s how to get started👉 Shared Access to Envelopes

In addition, Docusign supports Envelope Custody Transfer Rules, which allow you to automatically transfer envelope ownership based on certain conditions. Check out this overview to learn how they work: 👉  Envelope Custody Transfer Rules

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some of the options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account.
