I received an e-signed (By Docusign) documents with 2 signer. However, the Serial number under the signatures of two signers are almost the same. Is it possible for two signers have the same serial number on the same documents?

Hello @DennisN, -- Thanks for reaching out,

You might be referring to the membership ID, which is a long alphanumeric code below the signature. It’s actually possible for two signers to end up with matching membership IDs if they signed the document using the same Docusign email account. Docusign links the ID to the account, not just the person’s name. So if both signers accessed it through a shared account, that would explain the matching membership ID below the signature.

I hope this information helps. If you believe this response effectively addresses your question, please click “Select as Best” to help other users with similar questions, locate it more easily.

Hi Jenny,

What if two signers do not have an account and they e-signed the documents as guests?

Thank you!

@DennisN

the full User ID is like

539bd61b-79c5-457a-bfe1-ebd684a98c4e

and in the envelope is only show the first 15 characters.

I think the best confirm way is open case with support team. they can confirm the full user id for these signer.

Hello @DennisN,

I hope you’re doing well.

If the signer does not have an existing account at the time of signing, the system will automatically create a “recipient account.” This recipient account serves as a placeholder within our system, has its own unique membership/user ID, but it exists solely behind the scenes and cannot be used or logged into by users.
