An unscrupulous business sent a document to sign by two of us.  They only received one signature, and the document was subsequently voided.  This business then decided to take the signatures they had on the document, download from Docusign, and publish the document as though it is complete.

Because this Docusign envelope was sent to me before I had a Docusign account (using this same email address), Docusign won’t allow me access to be able to download the voided document, nor will Docusign go on the record formally to state the envelope was voided.  Instead, Docusign has told me to reach out to the very business that’s published the forged document to have them print the voided document.

I had to purchase a Docusign service plan to even open a claim, and after a month, Docusign is still unable to satisfy my request.  This is a clear case of fraud, and I need Docusign to definitively show/state that the document in question has been voided, and that any portrayal that it’s a valid document is a forgery.  Please help.

Hello @andrew.p.johnson13,

Thanks for reaching out! We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by the fraudulent transaction.

If you are a party to an envelope, then you may access the document(s) and related audit history through your account portal. The download icon will provide you with three options. One allows you to download the Certificate of Completion (CoC).

However, as the envelope was sent prior to account creation, I understand that this option may not be available. Unfortunately, we cannot provide this information to you directly, we apologize. We are a cloud service provider of Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) solutions, which makes us a neutral third party to any transaction processed through the platform.

If you dispute that you are a party to a transaction, you should attempt to obtain it directly from the sender of the envelope or through a legal process, such as a subpoena. Please review Docusign’s Law Enforcement Guidelines for information on how to submit a request for data or information.

Sincerely,

Melanie | Docusign Community Moderator
