We try to implement DocuSign in our Sharepoint envirenment.  According to the knowledgebase the first step is:

  1. From a SharePoint document library, select ... > Manage Docusign Administration Settings. The Settings window displays in a new browser tab.

But i can’t find this on any document library. Any idea where I can find this?

Or where I can do this:

To use Docusign for SharePoint, a tenant admin must grant permissions to the app. From a document library, select Manage Administration Settings in the Docusign menu and click Grant consent.

Thanks.

Hi Marco,

Im just new to the platform and im wondering whether do we have the capability to automatically backup all documents that send from DocuSign into place like OneDrive or SharePoint? Im also assessing this method and quite dont understand why it have the demo environment while i cannot find it in the admin panel

Hello @Wuang N,

I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for bringing your question to this community. I apologize for the delay in responding.

Yes, administrators can set up rules to automatically archive envelope documents to a cloud storage provider such as OneDrive or SharePoint through Agreement Actions.

Agreement Actions is an automation tool designed for administrators within the Docusign platform. It allows administrators to configure rules that automate common post-signature tasks without the need for coding. With Agreement Actions, administrators can connect predefined applications such as Docusign CLM, Box, and Dropbox to their eSignature accounts and create rules that dictate what happens to envelopes once they are completed. Configure Agreement Actions | eSignature

*Available in Business Pro and above eSignature account plans.

I hope you find this helpful. If you believe this response effectively addresses your question, please click “Select as Best” to help other users with similar questions and locate it more easily. Should you require any additional assistance, feel free to reach out. Thank you!

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for the response. I have able to run some demo run to test on the ability of that one, seem it working well. I also notice that it only work if we set some agreement rule workflow for it which i experience some certain delay. In such case that i want to back up all envelop from an account and back it up somewhere in a Sharepoint folder. And so moving forward, that Sharepoint will have all previous envelop along with new envelop that automatically backup with the rule.. So i believe we also to export all envelop in that account → upload to sharepoint → set the agreement rules
Please correct me if im wrong and let me know if you have some any other questions.

Hello @Wuang N,

Thank you for the update.

Yes, you’re correct that for optimal performance, the agreement rule workflow needs to be configured to handle backups to SharePoint. Setting up those rules ensures that envelopes are automatically backed up according to the rule you defined

Just to clarify - Agreement actions are designed to save completed documents to SharePoint as part of an automated workflow and will not work with documents that are already completed.

Hi Jenny,
Thank you for the clarify! It help me to understand more clearly now. But i do have a question related to Archive to SharePoint because it seem that i cannot select more further rather than Documents. Do we able to archive into specific folder such like Documents/Docusign.

Hello @Wuang N,

Yes, you can archive completed envelopes to a specific folder on your SharePoint. Select Customize > Customize file path and folder name.

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for guidance. I have setup a rule and go for some demo run but it got block somehow with this error

Error from ArchiveService: {"entries":[],"errors":[{"reason":"INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE","errorBody":{"statusCode":403,"code":"accessDenied","requestId":"xxx","date":"2025-04-28T11:06:56.000Z","body":"{\"code\":\"accessDenied\",\"message\":\"Access denied\",\"innerError\":{\"date\":\"2025-04-28T04:06:56\",\"request-id\":\"xxxx\",\"client-request-id\":\"xxxx\"}}","headers":{}},"name":"ArchiveUserError","statusCode":403}]}

It seem to indicate that folder permission in Sharepoint being limited right? And if so, what permission or share option that i can set for this sharepoint folder?

Hello @Wuang N,

Thank you for the follow-up and sharing the error details. To resolve this, the Sharepoint account must have Admin permission.

i have using my m365 admin account to perform the connection to our Sharepoint and tick on “act on behalf of our organization” should that be enough? or the email address we using also need to have access to that sharepoint? it a Distribution list so im not sure what is the next step

Hello @Wuang N,

I hope you’re doing well. I apologize for the delay in response.

The account used for the connection must have editor rights to the SharePoint folder. Could you please try to delete the rule and recreate it to see if you get an error?
