Hello,

According to your documentation, it isnt possible to customize emails sent after "Voided", "Declined" and "Complete" status with data specific to our company. However this is possible with signing invitation email in the case of remote signatures. Am i wrong ? Why can we customize only one mail ?

Regards,

Arthur

Hello @ACOU ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Docusign Community.

Docusign eSignature uses two resource files: one for signing and one for email messages. In addition to setting text elements, the signing resource file also controls some of the dialog boxes displayed in the signing view.

Please refer to the link below for more details.

Resource Files

I hope this helps. Please "Select as Best" below if you find the answer to be useful.

Hello @ACOU

Thank you for your response.

You can still edit the email’s text elements for voided, declined and complete.

Hello @ACOU

"Voided", "Declined," and "Complete" email text elements can be customized.

The resource file guide has pages related to these email notifications on what you can customize.

Hello, 7 monthes after , i stil dont have a good answer on this point.

For  signing invitation email , i am able to load an html template from my side and replace placeholders with our data. Then i call “RecipientEmailNotification” method with email_body = our html.

Why can't I do it for the other events?

@ACOU I don’t think the functionality you’re looking for is available. While you can customize the invitation email for each recipient, the subsequent email types are all driven off the Email Resource XML. So, you can modify that to a degree, even adding same dynamic data placeholders, they still need to be generic enough to apply to all envelopes.

The Email Resource XML is intended for general use, but you need to allow specific requirements to be handled through an HTML template for all emails sent during the DocuSign experience.

Hello @ACOU

I hope you are doing well.

I agree with @Mark Hurst that you cannot edit the text elements for Docusign’s voided, declined and completed email notification using Resource File.

DocuSign’s decision not to allow editing of these notifications is intentional, based on several technical and compliance reasons.

If uses will be allowed to edit these notifications, they may misrepresent the document’s true status or create confusion, disputes in legal or compliance reviews.

Additionally, this could break the list below.

  • Security and Trust
  • System Uniformity
  • Platform Design Philosophy

If you still think that it will be best if this can be allowed on your end, you may submit a product enhancement using the link below.
