Hi All,

I have created a template application that requires the applicant to have a Guarantor & Witness.

  1. If Applicant DECLINES to sign – the workflow still sends the application to the Guarantor? How do I stop this? I would think IF the first point of the workflow declines this would be the end of the workflow? I have attactched my signing order, which works great unless the applicant Declines.
  2. How do I make the Guarantor & Witness to be restricted to View only without changing the applicants access to view only? I essencially want mutiplue applicants to be able to collaborate but the 2 witnesses to only be able to View the information completed on the application. I have tried changing only the Witnesses to View Only however as colaboration is ticked it changes all to View Only.
  3. we want reminders on for the Witnesses to avoid a hold up for completion, but we don’t want notifications to go to the Applilcant. Can I customise alerts to only Witnesses?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hi @msJackman,

Welcome to the Docusign Community!

We are glad to have you here and can't wait to help share as much knowledge as possible.

I am sorry to hear that your envelope’s notification is sent to the signer even when the envelope has been voided, but I will share more details on the topic.

As long as your recipient roles have consecutive positions in your signing order, the second recipient should only be notified of the envelope being voided.

This is the application’s behavior by default, but each user can disable each individual notification type in their user preferences.

For more details on this topic, see:

Manage Docusign email notification preferences

Regarding the scenario related to View Only access, this can be configured through our Needs to View or Carbon Copy recipient actions. However this will provide the recipient to full access to the envelope starting from the point of the signing order where they were placed.

To restrict recipient access to documents, you will want to look into our Document Visibilty feature. Nevertheless, its important to take into consideration that manager recipient and non-signing recipient types will still retain full access to all documents.

More information on this feature can be found, here:

Thank you @Alejandro.Ramos , I will research the links you have provided.

As the Guarantor is signing that the information in the document is correct & the Witness is the Guarantor’s Witness hopefully I can find a way the informtaion cannot be changed/amended by either. The full document needs to be visable without starting from the point of the signing order where they were placed.

I will also reach out to our account administrator as suggested.

Have a great day!

@Alejandro.Ramos - the information you provided is great

good to know “that when a sender makes corrections to an envelope, signers must undergo another round of identity verification, even if they previously completed this step for the same envelope. This additional verification step is crucial for maintaining security and ensuring that only authorized individuals can access the important documents contained within the envelope, enhancing overall document integrity and protection.”

The information you provided has enabled me to work around the issues - Thanks again
