Is there a way to make the Docusign Navigator view default to displaying envelopes instead of documents within the Completed View for all users on the account?

Hello @Laronda
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.
Regarding your question, the answer is no, there isn't a way to globally set the Navigator view to default to displaying envelopes instead of documents within the Completed view for all users on an account. The Navigator view defaults to showing completed documents. You may check this article about General Limitations and Considerations for Navigator.

The table displays the known limitations and considerations for this Navigator release, including high-level descriptions.

Note: Navigator will improve and evolve over time.

Limitations and Considerations

(including regional expansion limitations)

Description
Data may be processed in a separate region During agreement processing, your data may be processed outside of the geographic region where your account is provisioned.

See Docusign’s Subprocessor List for details on processing locations.

Navigator AI models support agreements in select languages The AI models that power Navigator currently support agreements in English, French, and German.

See the Language and Regional Support topic for additional information.

Navigator features and AI-assisted insights vary by region/language

Navigator offers different sets of features and AI-assisted insights for customer accounts. These offerings are dependent on the region to which the account is provisioned and the agreement language.

Support for additional features and AI-assisted insights will be rolled out to different regions and languages on an ongoing basis.

See the support matrix on the Language and Regional Support topic for additional information.

Navigator AI-assisted insights accuracy and relevance vary by region/language

The accuracy and relevant of AI-assisted insights may vary depending on the agreement language and customer use case.

Customers should always review AI-assisted insights for accuracy and to determine whether the extracted data point is appropriate for their particular circumstances.

Navigator is best fit for customers with fewer than 100,000 Docusign historical completed agreements

When customers purchase an IAM plan with Navigator, currently, they can only ingest a maximum of 100,000 Docusign historical completed agreements.

Docusign historical document ingestion to Navigator has capacity limits based on IAM plans The number of Docusign historical completed agreements that a customer can ingest scales with the number of purchased IAM user licenses.
Ingestion and upload limitations When uploading or ingesting documents to Navigator:
  • Files must be less than 100 MB each
  • File names must contain fewer than 128 characters
  • Only supported file types can be uploaded

See the Agreement Uploads and Ingestion topic to learn more about these limitations.

Navigator is not fully compatible with Docusign CLM Full connectivity between CLM and Navigator is expected in late 2025.
Navigator is issued at the account level Customers with multiple eSignature accounts will receive one instance of Navigator for each account.
Navigator is not FedRAMP and StateRAMP certified For customers in regulated industries, Navigator is not yet FedRAMP and StateRAMP certified.
Navigator users cannot choose which documents are automatically ingested from eSignature All Docusign historical completed agreements are ingested automatically upon provisioning. Users cannot select specific documents or subsets of documents to be auto-ingested into Navigator.

Ingestion filtering can be requested and is dependent upon the use case.

Navigator only displays completed agreements Navigator does not display in-flight agreements.

Note: Customers can manually upload any agreement to Navigator. These agreements may or may not be completed.

Granting group permissions for the “Everyone” group has no effect Groups can normally be granted permissions to view or manage all agreements in Navigator for the account.

This is not the case for the "Everyone" group. Even if the user interface (UI) allows administrators to grant permissions for this group, there is no effect.

Sharing agreements with the “Everyone” group does not have any effect When sharing agreements, users can select users and groups in the account to grant them view, edit, or manage access. This works for any user or group in the account except for the “Everyone” group, even though that group is selectable in the UI.
Navigator does not support duplicate agreement detection Navigator does not recognize when duplicate agreements have been ingested or uploaded to the repository. If the same agreement was uploaded twice, users with the Can Manage permission can delete agreements manually, as needed.
