I have a customer who is asking about the "Additional Info" category in Navigator. They've enabled this, but want to understand where this info is input. There isn't a way to input anything in this category in the document details. They also asked about the character limit. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks!

Hello @Phill.McDaniels
Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We appreciate your question and assure you that we are fully committed to providing you with the best service possible.
For more details please see this article Benefits and Features of Navigator.

Docusign Navigator helps organizations to store, manage, and analyze agreements with help from Docusign Iris. It is part of the Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform. With Navigator, you can:

  • Drive efficiencies for your internal teams: centralize agreements and empower your most valuable teams to find what they need fast.
  • Uncover opportunities to reduce costs: use AI to handle tedious tasks and uncover cost-saving opportunities by harnessing agreement data.
  • Increase oversight and security: tighten agreement access with rules that ensure only the right users have access to the right agreements.

Key features and benefits

Navigator supports these features and benefits:

Feature Description
Account-level activity log

The account-level Activity Log provides a centralized location to view aggregate, user-performed events across all the agreements in an account:

  • Access updates (agreement and agreement set sharing)
  • Agreement downloads
  • Agreement set operations (set creation and updates)
  • Agreement views
Agreement access permissions Administrators can grant users or groups account-level access to agreements.
  • Contract managers with the appropriate permissions can create agreement sets to control access to agreements.
  • Users can share agreements with other users or groups in their account.
Agreement-level audits

Agreement-level audits are essential for minimizing errors, ensuring compliance, and troubleshooting issues.

The Activity Log records and displays agreement-level events that were performed by a user, including document uploads and access updates.

Agreement ingestion Your Docusign historical completed agreements are imported to Navigator automatically upon account provisioning. The ingestion limits for historical completed agreements are:
  • 500.000 (North American customers)
  • 100,000 (International customers)

There is a 100-MB file size limit when uploading or ingesting documents to Navigator.

Agreement list See all your completed agreements in a single list and sort or filter by various attributes.
Agreement preview Preview any agreement with key information highlighted thanks to AI functionality.
Agreement reminders Stay ahead of important dates with reminders for agreement milestones, such as renewals and terminations.
Agreement reprocessing As new or updated AI models are released, your historical agreements can be processed again to surface these data points. Depending on the type of new insights that are available, users can choose to:
  • Opt in for reprocessing from the New Insights Available badge (obligation-related attributes and insights)

  • Reprocess all the outdated agreements for the account (new or updated AI model)

  • Reprocess selected agreements (standard or custom fields)

See the Navigator Reprocessing Experience topic to learn more about this experience.

Agreement set management Make sure that the right people have access to relevant agreements by organizing documents into sets. Agreement sets can be used as an organizational tool or as a way to control access to agreements.

During set creation, apply smart filters to your agreement sets to create a recurring ingestion rule. When new agreements match the applied filters, they are added to the agreement set automatically.

Agreement statuses Gain clarity on which agreements are active or inactive and quickly understand the state of an agreement. Primary and secondary statuses are calculated based on the current date versus an agreement's effective and expiration dates.

See the Agreement Statuses topic to learn more about this feature.

Agreement type management Configure your agreement types and fields in one central place for one source of truth for agreement data throughout the agreement lifecycle.
AI-assisted insights Rely on Docusign Iris to surface key attributes and field values associated with your agreements. This feature facilitates the standardization of agreement data and better reporting.
Attribute search Quickly locate an agreement by searching for key attributes associated with the agreement, such as contract value, agreement type, and date range.
Auto-suggestion for custom agreement types

When uploading agreements to Navigator, if 10 or more similar agreements are identified as Miscellaneous, a custom agreement type is suggested.

For example, 10 charter agreements were uploaded and identified as Miscellaneous. The agreements are recognized as being similar and a custom agreement type, Charter Agreement, is suggested:

A snippet of the agreement list table that shows a suggested custom agreement type for a Miscellaneous document.

Use the Create option to create the suggested custom agreement type. See the Use Auto-Suggestion to Create Custom Agreement Types topic for steps to complete this task.

Bulk agreement upload Bulk upload historical agreements that were completed outside of Docusign or choose agreements from a third-party cloud storage location.

There is a 100-MB file size limit when uploading or ingesting documents to Navigator.

Centralized storage Store all your agreements in one location to improve agreement organization and visibility.
Custom fields and types Create custom fields and types within agreement type management to track specific information unique to organizational needs.
Individual agreement upload Users can upload agreements ad hoc and associate them with relevant parties.

There is a 100-MB file size limit when uploading or ingesting documents to Navigator.

Job monitoring Access job details for your agreement uploads and processing jobs. The job monitoring hub provides a centralized location to view and track the status of these jobs.
Keyword search Quickly locate an agreement by searching for specific text or phrases within the content of the agreement.
Natural language search Enter a natural language question or phrase into the search field on the Completed page. The query returns a direct answer to the question and a list of relevant agreements.

Important: Depending on the nature of the question posed, not all queries yield both direct answers and a list of agreements. Some queries may only provide a list of relevant agreements.

Obligation management Contract managers can take a proactive approach to ensuring that contract commitments are captured, tracked, and fulfilled.
Party management Store, organize, and reconcile party information so you can easily access agreements associated with a specific party.
Payment obligation tracking Stay ahead of due dates, improve compliance, and maximize contract value with AI-assisted payment-related obligations surfaced in your agreements.
Related concepts search Find relevant agreements more precisely using an advanced search technique. This technique uses both synonyms and a knowledge graph to identify related terms and concepts.
Renewal management Simplify renewal tracking with a dedicated dashboard and stay on top of important dates with agreement reminders.
Reporting Discover important insights about your agreements with an agreement dashboard that displays essential data to enable more informed decisions.

Subscriptions and notifications Sign up or subscribe to receive daily email reports and notifications to stay ahead of renewals, obligations, and other agreement deadlines.
