Dear DocuSign Community,

Is there a way to make DocuSign remember a device for logging in on the iOS-app without deactivating 2FA altogether? Our users are sharing iPads for using the DocuSign app for in-person signing a lot and are annoyed by having to run to their desktops to find the 2FA-code in their e-mail when switching accounts. Sometimes this is highly disruptive within our business procedures.

Hello @AlexUL21,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Docusign Community! We are glad to have you here and can't wait to help share as much knowledge as possible.

I understand it can be inconvenient to enter a code each time accessing the Docusign account. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. You've mentioned that you'd like to remember the device for logging into the iOS app without deactivating Two Factor or Two Step Verification, as your users share a device ( iPad) for in-person signing. I understand your concern, and I'm here to help.

Two-step verification is an additional security measure that helps protect the account from unauthorized access. When users turn it on, each time they log in, they'll be prompted for an additional verification, either to their email, phone, an authenticator app, or by logging in from a trusted device. This extra step ensures the account remains secure. However, users will have the option to remember the device, making it a Trusted Device. Can you please confirm that users see this option?

Hello Melanie,

sorry for not getting back to you earlier - our e-mail provider marked mails from docusign community as spam. I will check next week and get back to you. Thanks.

Hey @Melanie.Panguito,

your solution was not what I was looking for. We do want to use “New Device Verification”, but do not want to use “Two-Step Verification.” My problem is that, even though my team repeatedly logged in to the shared iPad, they often have to re-do the “New Device Verification”, with the caveat that they have to go access their e-mail inbox, which can be frustrating when they are on the go and want to use DocuSign on the iPad immediately. Is there anything I can do to make DocuSign remember our iPads, so “New Device Verification” does not come up anymore?

Thanks and kind regards,

Alex

Hey @AlexUL21,

The description states 2FA, which is the Two-Step Verification. Sorry if I misunderstood, but thank you for the clarification. You may need to enable persistent cookies in the browser for the device verification to be properly saved and to remember the device. For reference: Why am I being asked to verify my identity when logging in from a new device? > Step 4.

To enable persistent cookies in most browsers, navigate to the browser's settings, typically under "Privacy and Security" or "Cookies," and ensure that cookies are allowed or set to "Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)".

I hope this leads to a resolution. Let us know if we can help with anything else. Wishing you a smooth rest of your day!

Hey Melanie,

yes, my initial post did mention 2FA. I was unaware of the Two-Step Verification. It’s all good.

The thing is, we are looking for a way to remember an iPad running the DocuSign iOS App, not a browser. Is there any way to ensure that the New Device Verification is only necessary once per DocuSign account? My team gets the request for the code regularly. Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Alex
