Hello,

We are wanting to establish a custom email domain for use with templates we have created. I have been told this is available with the plan we are currently on.  My question is can the custom email domain be established for testing in our demo environment before we move into our production environment.  How can the custom email domain be added to our demo environment?   Is this a support ticket that we would open?   Is it possible to have the Organizational Admin role in both the demo environment and production environment ?   From research on your support site I believe this role allows for the custom email domain to be setup by that admin “ self service “ ?   Or for the demo environment do we need to open a support ticket to have someone on the Docusign team help us

Thank You

  • Yes, you can set it up in demo first. Use a separate subdomain for demo. Use a different one for production.

  • Self‑service if you’re an Organization Admin and the feature is visible in Admin. You can hold Org Admin in both demo and prod.

  • Demo setup flow:

    1. Claim your root domain in Admin.

    2. Enable the Custom Email Domain feature.

    3. Add a demo subdomain.

    4. Add the DNS records DocuSign gives you (CNAME for DKIM, TXT for SPF, MX).

    5. Verify, add the sender address, link it to the demo account, and send a test.

  • When to open a support ticket: the feature is missing in demo, your plan isn’t provisioned for it, or you hit domain mapping issues.

  • Scope: This only changes the From name and address on DocuSign emails. It does not change DocuSign URLs.
