I created several Document Custom Fields in the DocuSign in order to use them in one of my templates.

Such as Document Custom Fields:

  • Contact Email
  • Contact Name
  • Contact Telephone No

After creating those fields, then I set up a template and upload a envelop word file. I wanted to insert/place those document custom fields in the document, they do not appear in the sender’s filed drop down list.

Hi there @nnkaya,

Thanks for reaching out, and so sorry to hear you’re running into this issue. We’re happy to help you get things sorted.

To clarify, when you’re creating a template or sending an envelope and are on the Add Fields view, is the Custom Fields option missing entirely from the selection menu? Or does the option appear, but the newly created custom fields aren’t showing when Custom Fields is selected? For reference, my screenshot below is using the new sending experience.

If possible, please share screenshots of what you’re seeing (with any PII removed).

Hope to hear from you soon. Here if you need us!

Sincerely,

Thanks Melanie.

Just want to let you know that I am using the modern editor, not classic editor.

Got it. Thanks for the additional context @nnkaya.

This behavior is expected since Document Custom Fields are not supported in the Agreement Template Builder yet. For reference:

To use Document Custom Fields, you can switch to the classic editor. Hope this helps clarify things. If you have questions, we're here for you!
