I have two independent workflows, one for generating a contract and another where user can upload the document and some routing logic. Is it possible to have the second worflow’s docgen config’s document to get populated from the first? It contains some additional fields user needs to fill but I want the uploading to happen automatically. I was looking into “Create or Upload Doc” step but have not been successful yet.

Yes, this is achievable using the "Create or Upload Document" step in your second workflow.

To do this, you can configure the "Create or Upload Document" step to pull the document generated from the first workflow. This allows you to carry the document forward automatically—eliminating the need for manual upload—while still allowing users to fill in any additional required fields as part of the second workflow.

Make sure:

“Document Generation Template” This name must match one of the template names of the specified document generation configuration. If the configuration contains more than one template, you can leave the field blank. The user will then see the template selection screen of the configuration.

Input Xml: Specifies an XML variable to use as input. The variable contains XML data that pre-populates fields on the document generation input form when a user loads the form

The nodes in your XML must match the field names in the document generation form.
