We are using CLM to send around contracts. We have a workflow for this so all contracts end up in proper folders, etc. What I have noticed is that from CLM you can not go to a folder to look at a contract and download the CoC.
Now the user needs to go to eSignature and hope to find the document (residing in CLM) to retrieve it. This also means that other users that are authorized to look at a contract can not download the CoC as they can’t find it in eSignature. Can’t it also be made an option in CLM?

Hello @Ranjan B

Welcome to the DocuSign Community!

Can you please check the CLM Admin settings under "Account Settings"?
Within the "Electronic Signature" section, there is an option labeled "Download Certificate of Completion." Make sure this option is enabled.

Once you've marked it, test the functionality again.
If it still doesn't work as expected, I recommend raising a support ticket with the DocuSign Support team for further assistance.

Thanks!

Pawan,

although it looked very promising I’m still NOT able to download the CoC from any contract we have in CLM. From what I have seen now is that the user that created the contract can do this. I will raise an incident as you requested. Thanks for showing this setting!

Kind regards,

Ranjan B

Hey,

Thanks for the update! In such cases, it’s possible that folder security permissions are restricting access for certain users especially if only the contract creator can download the Certificate of Completion (CoC).

However, if you're an admin user, you should typically have access to download the CoC regardless of ownership.

I agree, it’s best to raise a support ticket with DocuSign to investigate this further and confirm if it's a permission-related issue or something else on the backend.

Thanks!

Pawan,

I showed an example when doing trying to do a download from eSignature or CLM here

I have also sent a message to a Docusign contact. I guess I should raise a support ticket. I am a full admin for the solution and it does not work for me either.

Thanks for your answers!

Hey @Ranjan B

I have gone through that and best you can do is raise the support ticket with DS support.

Thanks!

Pawan,

the trick is the following:

  • set the flag in the admin console
  • when the document is signed by all parties the CoC will automatically be created
  • when you view this in CLM you will see that there are now 2 document. The contract...and the certificate holding the CoC

So the setting does work but it will ONLY impact contracts that have been completed since this flag was set.

The DocuSign helpdesk person was very helpful in showing the why and how. For me this issue is now solved. Thanks again for your support!

@Ranjan B appreciate you sharing the information and happy to know it got resolved.
