We have many events throughout the year but our participation agreement is basically the same other than some changes to title and date.
The Web Form that connects to these templates is great for the end user but requires a lot of set up time. Because the Web Form is about 90% identical for each, is there a way to copy an existing Web Form and connect the form and its fields to a new template?
I feel like I’m missing something really simple on the DocuSign site to accomplish this task, but I just don’ see it.
I see that you can download a json configuration file. If you reupload it, it creates an exact duplicate connections and all. Would it work to download this configuration file, edit it and then reupload to accomplish this goal? If so which areas would I need to change and how would I get those that data?
Sean - were you able to get this to work? I came here searching for the same answer.
We administer pension plans and use docusign for beneficiary forms. the beneficiary form is the same for every plan, just the name changes. so we want to be able to duplicate the web form and just attach it to a new template. if this can’t be done then webforms are not useful for our purpose.
Hi @Firefly,
Thank you for following up.
Even though you can’t change the template related to a Web Form, you can copy it and create a new version of the form based on it.
Having multiple versions of your Web Forms, and starting by copying your existing template will help in saving effort when configuring your Web Forms.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I will address them as soon as possible.

Thanks but I'm not understanding. If I create a copy won't it still retain the original template form?
Hi @Firefly,
Thank you for sharing your concern.
Once you have copied your template, you can replace the original document with the new version with the updated plan name.

As always, don't hesitate to let me know if I can help with anything else in the meantime and I will lend a hand as soon as possible.
