How many days can we still access our account to download all documents after our contract ends? I got informed by one of a DocuSign Call Center staffs that we can access for 90 days maximum, another person said it is no limited time as we paid for our documents. Which one is correct?

I’m sorry for the confusion the provided information may have caused you, I understand you would like to know how much time will you after requesting the closure of your account to access your documents.

 

  • Once an account is going through the closure process you will no longer have access to the account, we recommend you download them before selecting the closure option.
  • If you decide to downgrade your account to free, you will have access to your documents at any time.
  • But if your account is suspended, you will have only a couple of weeks before it closes.

How long do we have once an account expires until the completed envelopes are no longer available?

If it is a personal account, as soon as the account is closed you will no longer have access to any completed documents through the account but can still be accessed via email. If it is a company account, the admin will still have access to those documents once the user is closed but the user themselves would not have access through the accounts, only the email if it is not closed already.

I’m meaning what if our company contract expires, and we decide to do way with eSignature. Will we still have the ability to retrieve items from our accounts for a given period of time? What happens to envelopes that are still active and unsigned on the contract expiration date?

Thank you for reaching back.

If your company decides to part ways with Docusign, the admin should close all the users on the accountbefore closing the account (there isn’t a specific expiration for the account unless the account was suspended), if you are a user, the admin will provide a time frame to retrieve any relevant documents before they close the user’s account, once that is done, the admin can downgrade their account to free which would allow them to still access all envelopes but they decide to close the account, they can download any envelope before closing.

If the account was suspended, you will have a few weeks to retrieve any documents before it closes for good.
