I am working in DocuSign Gen in DocuSign Apps Launcher in salesforce. I have a paragraph in my Word Template that I want to suppress if a certain text field in salesforce is blank.

I want the output document to not show the blank space where that paragraph should be.

This is my text <# <Conditional Test="/Opportunity/OEM_Account_txt__c" NotMatch="" /> #>MY CONTENT HERE<# <EndConditional/> #>

I am getting this error: TemplateErrorExists:Conditional: Cannot specify match or NotMatch with Test attribute

Can someone help me understand how to evaluate if a field is blank?

Hi @etemkin1,

A warm welcome to the Docusign Community—great to have you here!

From your description, it appears this error happens because you are using a Conditional Test where a Conditional Select is required. The difference is that only the Conditional Select option supports the "Match" or "NotMatch" conditions you need. In contrast, the Test Condition allows you to specify whether the text value is a certain value.

This is what you want to put if using the Match or NotMatch:

  • <# <Conditional Select="/Opportunity/OEM_Account_txt__c" NotMatch="" /> #>MY CONTENT HERE<# <EndConditional/> #>

If you want to use the Conditional Test, you would have something like:

  • <# <Conditional Test="/Opportunity/OEM_Account_txt__c[text() !='']" /> #>MY CONTENT HERE<# <EndConditional/> #>

We know how challenging it can be to get conditional logic working correctly, and we want to make this process smoother. To help, here is an article that explains the process 👉 Learn About Adding Conditional Logic to a Gen Template Word Document

I hope this helps. If you feel like my suggested solution has helped you or pointed you in the right direction, we would greatly appreciate it if you would consider liking and marking it as "Best Answer" ✅, to help other community members find trusted answers and follow similar steps.
