We have 2 users in Salesforce with DocuSign license assigned to them in Salesforce. One person (A) generates and sends the document while other person (B) tracks and takes care of invoices once its signed. She also acts as a backup when other person goes on PTO.

In DocuSign website, I have enabled sharing so the envelopes created by one user will be accessible to others.

In Salesforce Quote template detail page, when person A uses the View Envelope menu of DocuSign Envelope Status component it opens up the Contract Document (Expected behavior). But when person B does the same, it opens the DocuSign Website within a iframe. So, not sure what has been missing.

Here are few things I checked:

  1. Sharing Settings of DocuSign Envelope Template and its child entities are set to Public Read/Write and Controlled by Parent
  2. Both users have the same profile and permission sets assigned to them in Salesforce.
  3. Both users have been setup as DocuSign Admin user, to ensure smooth operations.
  4. As mentioned above, the sharing has been enabled for these 2 users in DocuSign.

I used Share Envelope’s with Users option which seems to do the trick and I was able to view the document in Salesforce. This feature is in maintenance mode which is expected to go away. But the Share Access with Others like said in the documentation DID NOT WORK😅 

Will ask my users to test and ensure its working consistently for at least a week before I call it Resolved :)

Here is the update from my earlier post. One open issue was the Envelope Status does not reflect back in Salesforce, though the contract gets viewed and signed by customer. Status gets reflected correctly for User A, but not for User B. I verified the DocuSign settings, particularly Admin > Connect settings. The connection to Salesforce is inactive. Also noticed a weird behavior, Connect settings disappears sporadically and then appear again.

Going to look into the Connect and will keep you posted.
