Is there a way to bulk generate documents via Salesforce for Docusign?

Hello,

I am trying to set up a client so that they can bulk generate donation acknowledgement letters for Opportunities in Salesforce. Is this a possibility with Docusign for Salesforce?

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to help provide some clarification on this topic…

Docusign has multiple product integrations with Salesforce. The two that are being discussed in this thread are Gen and eSignature.

Gen dynamically generates documents.

eSignature generates the “envelopes” that documents are put into and then routed around for signature and/or other data collection.

Many customers use Gen to dynamically generate a customized document, then send that newly generated document out for signature via the eSignature part of the integration, for a “Gen and Send” behavior.

I wanted to point all of this out so that it’s easier to clarify the ask. In other words, asking to generate docs in bulk via our Gen product is a much different ask than how to send many eSignature “envelopes” in bulk.

Best,

Hello @ACCSC ,

Thank you for reaching back.

As mentioned in my previous post, there isn’t a way to bulk generate documents via Salesforce alone.

My previous post states that “There's a long-term approach of exporting the CSV from Salesforce and then using it via the web app to do the bulk send.  There are ways via legacy Connect to then push data/docs back into Salesforce.

If the documents are static, and if it’s ok for an eSignature envelope to be involved, then you could use eSign to merge in data into read-only fields on the doc. So technically this would “generate documents” but in a different roundabout way.

Either way, I recommend you contact Support for assistance on how to set it up: https://support.docusign.com/en/contactSupport

Let us know if you need further assistance with this.

This Knowledge article should be updated, as it states that the Gen rendering process can merge multiple templates into a single document.

Bulk Document Creation: Select Generate all documents in this configuration with one click to merge all template documents into a single generated document.
