Can Salesforce Users edit Documents before sending for Signature?

I am a Salesforce consultant implementing Docusign in an Org for a client. The team would like to be able to click the button to generate the document from an Opportunity record, make edits to the text anywhere in the contract and then send for signature. They would like to do all of this from within Salesforce and not have to download the document, edit in a word processor, re-upload to Salesforce to then send for signature.

Could this be possible in the Docusign functionality in Salesforce using the Docusign app?

Hello @JShane

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Docusign Community!

If you were using DocuSign Doc Gen for Salesforce (or another document generation tool) to create a document and then sending it through DocuSign for Salesforce, the generated document becomes a static PDF. While you can add fields during the sending process, the original text cannot be edited.

I hope this helps clarify things! Let us know if you have any further questions
