Power Automate: Get template info from a completed document

Unfortunately, we don't have a built in method to accomplish this. You would likely have to use our open API to get the envelope information which should have the template used in the json response.

Is this by design? I can’t comprehend why the template ID or template name of an envelope would be not be retrievable in any way from the Power Automate connector.

The limitation here makes sense to handle at the integration layer rather than trying to force the Power Automate connector to return something it doesn’t expose. The DocuSign response confirms there isn’t currently a built-in Power Automate method for retrieving the template ID/name from a completed envelope, while the API can be used to retrieve the envelope information and identify the template used.

If the goal is simply to route completed documents into different SharePoint folders, another practical option would be to carry a template identifier as metadata when the envelope is created. Then the completion flow can use that value directly instead of making another lookup.

That kind of approach also keeps the automation predictable as the number of templates and document workflows grows.
