I understand you got an email requesting you to verify your identity.
Usually, that is done once you get an envelope (this must have qualified signature) and before selecting the Sign button, for more information please view the following article: Sign with the IDnow Trust Service Provider to Issue Qualified Electronic Signatures in the European Union
I haven’t seen an email requesting it separately though, can you provide the email address of the sender of the email?
